January 11 Art Journaling

I chose the silhouette with the profile and the bag and then I filled the bag :) I hope I didn't cover the silhouette up too much. I had trouble stopping. As the original silhouette is about 12" high and the rules state "YOU can GO BIGGER but NOT SMALLER" I worked on a 16x16" space so I could hang things off all edges of the silhouette without going smaller.

January 15: painted edges

I painted the edges of my papers and photos with a watercolour brush. Created with Stay Paw-sitive by Becca Bonneville

January 17: rainbow

Rainbow seemed like the perfect excuse to scrap about the acrylic paint pouring I do. This will be the title page for an album of photos of my paintings. I used photoshop brushes for the paint drips in red, yellow, pink, green, purple, orange, blue. A different brush for each. The "3D" paint is cut from photos.

I may have gone a bit over the 150 word count :P
"This is my 1990 Toyota Sera. I always wanted one of these from when I first saw them back in the 90s. In 2001 Graham and I went on a two day drive to Queensland for a "working" holiday. We spent a long weekend there and were guest judges at a rat show. While we were there we made a side trip to look at a bright yellow Sera we had seen advertised for sale at in importers. When we got there we found they had changed their mind. They were keeping it for a show car as they had put a lot of work into it but they had another stock version available we could inspect. I sat it in and said 'I'll take it' without ever even starting it. It was love at first sight but I had some conditions. I wanted some of the customisations I'd seen on the yellow Sera. I wanted alloy wheels, window tinting, an immoboliser and the nice custom interior (seats and carpet) from the show car and I wanted it delivered. Done deal! We bought this car with 'our' money but it was always to be my baby. On the way home from that trip Graham proposed so we like to say this was my engagement present. I got a road trip, a ring, a fiance and a dream car. How romantic! A month later the car was delivered. It came down on a car transport truck and the guy who unloaded it said it was the nicest car he had ever driven. It had been on the front of the top rack of the transport so it had caught all the bugs on the trip. It was a mess! So I washed and polished it (and took photos) there as then as the sun set before I finally drove it for the first time. Now I'm old and so is the car. We've been through a lot together. She was my daily drive until one of the kids broke his leg and couldn't climb into the back so now I have a sensible SUV for family outings but the Sera is still my baby. She is 29 years old now and well looked after. She's had a few upgrades along the way, bigger exhaust, bigger wheels, smaller steering wheel, better stereo, 4EFTE turbo engine swap and a glorious multi-chrome purple/gold/green vinyl wrap over the original silver paint. We've been to many car shows, on numerous car cruises and featured in a few international calendars. She even won a 3rd best in show at a Toyota show day! I love my Toyota Sera."
