I have wavy/curly hair, and it looks AWESOME straight out of bed in the morning (I shower at night and let it air dry, because if a hair dryer comes within 20 feet of my head, my hair takes on a life of its own...I'm talking undead hair here, people!) with just a couple of minutes of waving hands through it in the morning.
Now, before you all want to burn me at the stake for being a witch, it retains that awesomeness for fifteen whole minutes...and then the South sets in. And by the South, I mean the humidity. Humidity and curls are not BFFs. They are not even frenemies- they simply hate each other. I swear, in that fifteen minutes my hair grows to Bride of Frankenstein proportions. I can literally feel it expanding out from the sides of my head, kind of like dough rising.
At that point, I get to try to fix it again, but there is no saving it- it must go into a ponytail or bun. And even then, those short little hairs right along the hairline stick out in all directions and start waving around. It's not a pretty sight.
And I am completely deficient in hairstyles. I can't even do a proper messy bun- instead, mine comes out looking like a poor, floppy half-ponytail with some random scraggly bits poking out.
So, yeah, I get 15 minutes of good hair per day, and that's it. Maybe I should try straightening it? Would a flat iron help at all?
