Maybe think ahead if you do decide to. My parents bought my brother a backpack last year as a senior, and then this year he had to buy one that would fit his laptop. If your school doesn't have restrictions, maybe that would be a better idea? We spent a lot on DH's Swiss Gear laptop bag, but he's now used it for 4 years (nursing school, and now to work), and it's going strong!I haven't decided if I'll buy Aspen (17) a new one or not. She's a senior so this is her last year of high school.
Usually, the teacher writes "suggested" or "optional" to get around the law...We just got a supply list for the 6th grader, which I think is a joke because we are supposed to have free public school for elementary in Utah.

I've seen notebooks at $0.10 and $0.25 this year on sale, and the penny deals mentioned above. What do you see on clearance that makes you wait?I'm running low on my blank notebook supply, so I hope the clearance sales are really good this year.

My sister was in town, so she and I went to pick up things on the list last month. I also buy extras in case the class needs more things during the year.
