So when you were in school, were you excited to start back? Nervous? Filled with angst? Have nightmares about showing up to school n@ked? Did it depend on the year? Did you have a favorite teacher(s) who really made a difference in your life? Or someone who stuck out as a really bad teacher? Did you participate in extra-curricular activities that made school fun?

What are some of your favorite back-to-school memories... for yourself or your kiddos? And if they were for you, did you ever scrap/journal about them?

I had mixed feelings about school overall, loved primary school, hated the 2 years of intermediate school apart from a best friend of 16 years that I gained while there, liked some parts of high school more than others but over all didn't love it apart from again gaining a close friend and liking a few teachers.

University though for the most part I've loved, always been keen to attend and love going back after a break to learn more - can't believe I only have 6 more weeks of classes with my final exam on Nov 10th

I really liked school. Junior high was rough, but isn't it always like that? I did have back to school nightmares. Still do, only this time I'm the teacher.

LOL Ama, that is funny! :)

I was always excited ... even in HS I liked going back to the routine, seeing friends everyday and starting a new school year. When I was younger I loved getting my new school supplies and picking out my first day outfit. My kids dread it every year.

Ama! LOL! Makes me think of this:

I usually was excited, mostly to see friends and a new year.
Now... not so much.... buying supplies, getting back into a stricter routine, and HOMEWORK! UGH! Plus, winter is coming! Ugh x 2!

Yep, Jenn, that's me. But if any of your kiddos are nervous about back to school, you can assure them that even the teachers get nervous, too. I've been teaching a decade now, but it never gets easier. Well, easier maybe, but not less scary...
After the first week, I'm more excited than anxiety-ridden.

I used to plan my new outfits and then go shopping for them. I loved junior high and up. Elementary school was a little too filled with teasing about my weight. In high school I was a cheerleader and a straight A student, so yep loved it. I do have this dream every once in awhile. I find out I have to go back to high school at the age I am. Of course I feel compelled to try out for cheerleading again. Tryout week never goes smoothly in that dream.

I remember back to school clothes. It was the only time we got new clothes (except for an Easter dress). And I remember putting it on Lay-A-Way... getting it out a little at a time. Man, we did not have much, hehe... but I thought I was looking good.

I was a huge drama geek. I took all my required classes during summer school so that during the school year i was able to take 4 drama classes as well as an 8th period that was also drama! I loved going back to school and wish i could totally go back to high school and do it all again.
