I feel kind of lame. We don't do Easter baskets or egg dyeing...I don't even buy my kids new clothes. This isn't because I have anything against those things...I just don't do them.
I did read Easter books to my kids and have an Easter Egg hunt, and we went to church (which is a normal thing for us). My oldest and I played a piano duet during service, which we've been practicing for 8 weeks (so I guess that was my preparing!). My 12 year old wanted us to match and look "nice" so she picked out all of our outfits. Here's a pic. Not too shabby for not shopping for all of us.

You guys look fabulous! Your daughter has an eye for fashion. Great job on picking out the family outfits. Happy Easter.
Well, the biggest preparation that I do for Easter is LOTS of practicing with the church choir, so in that regard I was prepared... for everything else. I wasn't so much! lol! I did buy some Easter candy, but I didn't even put that in the eggs until AFTER 3 services at church yesterday. My boys are 11 and almost 13, so they really are too old for the egg hunt, but they still love it and so do I, so we still did that in the afternoon.
As for the meal, I'm so lucky that my MIL does EVERYTHING for Easter lunch. She knows I spend from 6:00 am until noon at church on Easter and I'm just too tired to do a meal, so she always has us over and cooks everything and spoils us rotten.![]()
I hear ya on running outta time. I spent all day Saturday cooking for Easter. Boiling eggs and potatoes for the potato salad and egg coloring and baking a cake for strawberry shortcake. I also made a cake for the a funeral on Saturday for one of my neighbors. I was so busy cooking, I didn't even get my Easter baskets put together until late afternoon on Sunday. We did 2 sacrament meetings on Easter Sunday. Our regular one and then a mission farewell. I had forgotten about the mission farewell, until Sunday morning so I had to push back Easter dinner to fit that one in. Luckily, I heat the ham in the crockpot so I just adjusted the temp and time so it all worked out ok. I made way too much ham and potato salad, so we'll be eating left overs forever. I even took extras over to a friend whose married kids struggle so they could eat it, because I made so much. I forgot to adjust my recipe down since we weren't having a large extended family dinner. I had made potato salad for 25 when we only had 4 of us eating it... hehe It's way yummy, but there's no way my girls are gonna go for eating potato salad for a week. I'll be lucky to get them to eat leftovers today. Thank goodness my friend's family was able to take some of it and the ham off my hands.
