Are you a One Kit Wonder or do you mix it up?

I love to mix it up. Lately, however, I've also run into the ACDSee issues with upgrades so I haven't categorized as much. This makes it harder to find what I'm looking for.

I'm a one kit person unless it's BYOC or MPM then I mix it up. Sometimes if a kit doesn't have something I need then I may wander and look for it elsewhere.

This is me.... :)

I like to call myself a "BYOC Scrapper."

I've actually started mostly *just* buying MPM, M3, and BYOC items because I like to have a ton of coordinating stuff to choose from when I'm making a page. I tried scrapping from just a single kit, and I felt really constrained, but scrapping from a larger collection of coordinating kits works really well for me.

I have almost always been a one kit scrapper, but have started to see the benefits of deviating from that, for art journaling specifically. I still organize my kits in store> designer> kit folder, but have been trying to figure out how I could use the collaboration type feel of BYOC. I don't tag files, or rename anything. .... yet. Lol. I have been trying to add my previews to Evernote, because I love how the Evernote search works. But that will take me literally forever if I don't just sit down and do it. So I haven't yet. :/

I used to organize by Store -> Designer -> Kit and still do for things that aren't collabs, but for BYOC, M3, MPM, etc., I actually took the plunge earlier this year and grouped all of the kits from a collab together. So now its Store -> Collab Name/Date (e.g. BYOC May 2015) -> Kit. In Lightroom I can click on a folder at any level and see ALL of the pieces under that level at once, so I can click on the "BYOC May 2015" folder and see everything in it, even though the pieces are still in their own individual kit sub-folders.

I haven't started playing with lightroom yet - in fact I'm sort of afraid of it.

It sounds like everyone has their own way of doing things in terms of getting organized. Right now I have it sorted by store... that's about it. I used to sort by designer too, but I like seeing all the kit previews together - plus I think it gives me more opportunities to work with kits since they are basically in my face. I do have one CT gig right now and sort her stuff by designer... when I was on multiple CTs a few years ago it became necessary to do it like that to stay organized.

I had at one point wasted so much time tagging in Picasa, but decided I rather scrap instead. Now I try to examine kits and rename anything if it doesn't have the obvious "button" or "flower" in the element title so I can just search when I need something in particular.

I'm a mixer, big time. I don't tag, just try to be familiar with what I have. I also use the search feature in my computer a lot, though it isn't always too terribly helpful.

I was a one kit scrapper.. now I use anything and everything that I love... LOL!! I am NOT ORGANISED!!! i don't tag, i don't have separate folders... I feel like i'm a terrible scrapper!!!!
