Hi Everyone... last week was a long week... and a lot of waiting around. I read books, futzed around on the interwebs and played games. I'm curious what your top 5 apps are for 2 things... just in general, and games. In general my most used consistently apps are - Email, Kindle, FB, Safari (internet) and Messages (text). For games, I play - Blockudoku, Solitaire (with the dog, Grand Harest), Rummikub, and Merge Mansion... I get bored easily and play games, leave them for a month, and then come back. What about you?
It depends on whether you are talking phone or tablet. On my iPad, the games I play most are Emoji Blitz and HexaMania. On my phone I am a bit of a social media addict. (Surprise, surprise since I'm on the social media team.) My top apps are Facebook, X, Instagram and Threads. I also use Pocket Casts all the time in the car with Android Auto. On both, I use Firefox all the time.
On my phone, I use email, FB (such a time waster), Instagram, Kindle and Photos most. When I'm filling time with a game, my go to is Solitaire. I don't have too many other games that I play anymore.
I don't use apps on my phone unless you count "Messages" for texting. I do have an app to track gas mileage and an app to track my walks (which I haven't been able to use since April). The screen is too small for me to do anything else on it. On my tablet, I have 3 or 4 games that I rotate through using. I also have my Bible study app although I usually read those on the website with my computer. I do also have a local TV station's weather app just in case of power outages during storms. I do have the Kindle app as well but prefer using my actual Kindle! I hate surfing the internet on both the phone and tablet. I just need a big screen! So for me, apps are not a necessity on the phone or tablet. But if needed they are available.
Whatsapp for messaging, Instagram and You-tube for time wasting, Google Chrome for browsing. Township, June's Journey and Triple Match are games. Audible and Kindle for books.
The non-game apps I use the most are Gmail, Apple Calendar, Apple Reminders, Camera/Photos, and Day One (journaling). The ones I love the most are Day One (again; I journal a lot), Paprika (recipes and meal planning), my bank app, my library app, and Goals-Fitness (tracking my walks/hikes). I've been stuck on the same game apps for several years. My favorite is Word Wow Around The World, but I play just as often in Solitaire, Wordscapes, and Word Scramble. Edited to add: Overcast is also one of my most used and favorite apps. I listen to podcasts every day!
I'd say FB, text, and Instagram most often. I do scroll TikTok quite a bit, too. Some of my other most used are One Second Everyday, Snapchat (because that's how my daughter talks to me lol), Messenger, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music Podcasts, Walmart for pickups, Waze on my way to and from work every day....there are probably a few more that I used pretty often. I don't play a lot of games on my phone, but I do like Spades and Phase 10.
I’m Instagram, Facebook, Amazon, Quordle (like Wordle), & Procreate. I really jumped on here to say the sneak peek of Oct BYOC colors looks really great!
On my phone: iMessage, camera, photos, pic-tap-go On my iPad: Netflix, Facebook, Instagram, and Safari
In general: Email, Pocketcasts (podcasts), Libby (library audiobooks), photos, Daylio (journal app) followed by school apps and church apps. Games: I picked up Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells (match 3) again recently; Puzzle Page (Sudoku, crossword, kinda like the old newspaper puzzle page); Blockudoku Logic Puzzles (the clues to eliminate things and find the solutions) Phase 10 (card game) Phase 10 rotates around with other card/board games depending on my mood. Canasta, Clue, Ubongo, etc. The top 3 are really the ones that stay the same the most. I read on my Kindle, not my phone. But my phone is my main music/spoken word device!
We like similar games! My son got me into Blockudoku and I have a Logic Problem app too! A lot of apps have this whole story line that plays out, and I just want to play the game, lol!
For me - Gmail, Safari, Facebook & Instagram would be my main generic ones then I use some specific apps for my job hunt and health issues as well.
Agree about the storyline! I also don't like games that have timers. I want to be able to put down the device in the middle of a game and come back to it if needed. I have a Kriss Kross app that I would enjoy a lot more if the puzzles weren't timed!
Exactly! If I'm playing a story game, I'd rather be on my computer with Hogwarts Legacy. Technically, HP Puzzles has a "story" but not like most games. Each level is names a quote from the books. No waiting for the characters to talk and such.
There's a Rummikub app?! How did I not know this?! I must avoid it or I'll be addicted lol My phone tells me my most used categories are: Messages, Chrome, Gospel Library, Gmail, and Duolingo. I thought Google Calendar would be top 5 but it's #7. For games, I play Wordle and Nerdle once a day. That's my limit. I'm sorry about your long week Jenn. Hugs to you!
I mainly use gmail and then when I am shopping I will use Yuka a lot. During my short breaks at work I will play Wordle/Quordle and the NYT Connections game although those aren't apps.
I'm just watching this thread for more tips on games...LOL!! for regular apps, I think the ones I use the most are: Instagram, X (former twitter), spotify for podcasts, whatsapp and chrome. for games, I love match 3 games, like Candy crush( mainly saga and jelly), bubble witch saga, bejeweled, mahjong, Sudoku
I have too many apps to count! .. but my go to apps are: instagram, facebook, temu, royal match, candy crush, bubble party, food stylist and i like beauty plus and in collage for editing photos I also have a lot of recipe apps for cooking which give me daily recipies to try and one that gives me daily quotes which is kinda fun
The apps I use the most are: Pocket Casts (for podcasts), Chrome, Reddit, Samsung Health- (where I track my food, exercises and weight), and TikTok. I also use the Amazon App, the Kindle app, and the Target App/Walmart Apps at least weekly. I don't play many games, but toggle between Solitaire and Egg, Inc, and I check in with Finch daily- it is a habit tracker/game.
