I'm always tempted by Camera apps but then think ...will I really use this? Any users out there? Halide and Spectre
Not an iphone user here. But, checked it out cuz I was curious. Doesn't the iphone do a long exposure anyway? I can do it on Android with the default camera, so I assumed Apple could too? The reviews are pretty dismal on Spectre. A long exposure really needs a tripod or something to hold the camera steady. How does the app avoid that?
i found Halide in the google play store then DH reminded me the last one didn't end well so i didnt even search for the other - i thought most apps were available for everything these days - i'm on android too but the previous camera app i DL'd to get more camera geek control of length of exposure & spot focus etc kept doing weird things to my screen if it was left open, like it would condense the keyboard to half the size and the front number code lock screen would be scrambled and hard to get back in to - i can't remember the name of it though ETA: actually i found it- i remembered the orange kinda icon - it was camera fv-lite thing https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.lite
I think I'll pass because I'd never really get around to using them. And yes, I have no aspirations to really be a great photographer. When I was young and shot with the requisite 35mm, I'd have loved all these current phone options!
I have so many camera apps on my phone and never use any of them . But, I haven't heard of these. I may have to check them out.
@bellbird huh. i'll have to look again. Although, when I want more control, I shot in the Lightroom app. It does a great job. I'm just a regular stock girl most of the time though.
The reviews were terrible. I use my native camera for everything. Snapseed is my go-to editing app (& it is free).
