Anyone else excited about the 50th anniversary episode on Saturday??? I'm totally nerding out over all the stuff BBC America's been showing last week and I stayed up late last night because Blink was on.

I have only seen a couple of episodes but my teenage son is totally into the show and we are actually having a party that day at my house for it. A few of his friends are going to watch a Netflix marathon starting at 3pm then the show at 7pm. I'm providing snacks and pizza. And have sent the little brothers and sister away for the day, LOL. Now that is serious!

So, I could not really care less, but I'll be very much involved in Doctor Who that day in support of a bunch of high school kids :).

Jen, you're such a cool mom to do that for your son and his friends!

I love Doctor Who, but I'm a young'un and I've only watched the latest installments (you know, since Eccleston). Anyway, the special should be fun!!! DH literally laughs at me and my Doctor Who obsession, but I don't even care. I can't wait until DD is a few years older and I can introduce the show to her. And then, a few years after that, I can introduce DS. :)

I'm going to print this out and staple it to my son's forehead :yesss

I'm confident he doesn't agree with your assessment :giggle

But thanks! I'm gonna run with it.

me! i am excited about saturday (and hoping they will air it over and over after that since we may still be at a soccer tournament) - i watched the science of dr. who special the other night - it made my brain hurt! dh's favorite Dr is Tom Baker, so he doesn't love the current episodes as much as I do (David Tennant was my fave Dr. - lol!)

I'm going to a party on Saturday to watch and then I'm going to see it in 3-D at a movie theater on Monday! :) I can't wait!!!!

Love it! The anniversary episode is on early sunday morning here, will record it and watch it when I get up... Love David Tennant and Matt Smith - although not too keen on the Impossible girl as sidekick - much preferred Amy and Rory.

I watched it through the 70's but it terrified me - watching the reruns now for laughs - not so scary when you see the walls wobble on set...

I'm a fan but am a few seasons behind. I need to do a couple of marathon wkends and catch up!

My 10 year old loves this so I catch it occasionally but sometimes its embarrasing as he has to explain it to me so yes saturday we will be waiting for it and recording it too

I never watched a single episode, but I'll be participating through my tumblr friends... Doctor Who is one of the biggest fandoms there, so I gained a lot of knowledge of the show without ever watching it :)!

I have to do this when I'm watching and my mom is around. No one else in my family even attempts to understand! LOL!

we are all very devoted to Doctor Who here ... we will be watching the 50th anniversary episode for sure!!

We are pretty nuts about the new Who's, but since we don't get cable (but watch on computer) we'll probably watch it when it gets to Amazom, Netflix or another on line outlet.

It's On. Now. EEK. I'm finding that I'm having a hard time not hanging w/ my son and friends while they watch it. Do you think I'll lose my "cool mom" status if I sit on the edge of my seat in the middle of them all? hehe

And I've only seen a handful of episodes before. Not sure why I'm so captivated.

I'm PVRing it right now and decided I will crawl into bed tonight a bit early and watch it. I can't wait!

It was pretty epic. I'm watching again now!

Let's just say I'm not used to teenaged girls. There was a lot of squealing during the show, LOL. Plus, it gave them an excuse to get closer to the boys. Yes, Mom sat in the living room with them during the whole. entire. show. Partly as chaperone, partly b/c I was sucked into the phenomenon that is Doctor Who.

I haven't watched it yet--thank goodness for DVRs. Did anyone see Google today? They're all "Who-ed" out for the anniversary! :) So fun! I'm now watching Graham Norton cuz David Tennant (yum) and Matt Smith are about to be on. :woot
