Another PL question - continuity

I want my PL to look more cohesive than last year's. My weekly card will be very similar each week. I will be using the same font every week. I will use a different kit each week to change it up cause using the same thing over and over again can get boring. I'm loving journal card templates because I can make them to match the kit I'm using. One of my weekly cards are ABC's, every week I will do one of those, my daughter has fun choosing a word every week. If the kit I'm using doesn't have filler cards I'll find one or make one, I will also use other journaling cards that are not too different. So far Im loving the process.

I am using the same template each week. However, when I make my layout I look at my photos and see which color stands out to me. Like for this week I used RED as I had red that came out to me. So I changed all my fonts and papers to match that color. I use any product that works with my page. I try to stay with Ginger Scraps designs but if I can't find something I need to go on my layout I venture into all my digital folders to find what I really need for the page. Like the read wordart on week 3's layout. Good luck.

i only keep things consistent (somewhat) between the two pages for the week. otherwise, i feel too boxed in.

I feel free to use whatever product I feel like using! I find that I get bored using the same things over and over again. That's why the PL core kits won't work for me. Found that out the hard way after buying one for 2011 and one for 2012 and only using it sporatically. I don't think anyone would care if my pages don't match each other.

i think my answer is about the same as everyone else's. i'm definitely going to use different products throughout the year... not sticking to one color scheme or kit or anything like that. i do plan on keeping the style somewhat consistent from week to week, but even that is up in the air a bit. i just want to get through it so that i have an album at the end of the year. :)

Hi - I wonder if someone would help me figure out how to make the pictures look clearer under Valerie's Pockets No.7: More Basics. I love them and love to use them for Project Life - Digi style. I'm relativly new at digi scrapping but when I use the pockets I feel like the picture underneath looks a little cloudy. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks Melissa

TMisangel, try actually using the pocket protector as the background rather than the top layer. If you REALLY want the look of having the photos under a layer of film, then you can always duplicate the layer, put it on the very top and reduce the opacity to create the effect without clouding your photos. Does this make sense??

I do 2 page spreads each week. For the past 5 weeks I've used Amy Jazz's journal cards from her BYOC kits. Since she announced that she is making a set for each month's BYOC, I figured this would be enough to change it up each week, but still have coordinating colors. So Each month I'll buy things from the BYOC that I probably would anyway, use a different color from one of the paper's kits for my Background paper and then use elements from the BYOC unless I need something special - like a football for last week, or a birthday element so forth. I'm also using Emily Merritt's week number card https://the-lilypad.com/store/Big-Number-Week-Cards.html and changing the color of the number & this for my weekly journaling https://the-lilypad.com/store/This-Week-Cards-Monday-Sunday-Version.html. It changes it up enough this way so I'm not bored, but gives it enough of a sense of continouity (sp?)
