Amazon?

Too expensive for us too, South Africa is the back of beyond and the dollar exchange is prohibitive, It sure sounds good though.

I love love love Amazon.

Shopping time is not something I can count on. Some days I need to get things, and it's just not an option with my back pain. Other days, I go and I'm OK for a short period of time. It's just not reliable.

I do rely on Amazon for loads of our family's purchases. I've had excellent customer service when an order didn't come complete or when I had to return an item.

Love it ... I do as much Christmas shopping as I can at Amazon. We use it for everything and anything - especially good for ordering big orders of K cups. Love it for the movies/series too!

Love amazon, but I actually rarely buy things. lol! I use the reading, the music, the photo storage, and definitely the amazon video prime benefits, though. the few things I've ordered this year from prime (we signed up in April), I've appreciated the free 2 day shipping. I may use it for Christmas shopping also. Maybe... really depends on the gifts I decide on.

I use Amazon Prime. We've had it for quite a few years now. I think it's great, and I'm always happy with turn around time for delivery. I ordered something for a friend on Friday and she got it today! Spectacular service 99% of the time.

Oh yeah, all gifts were purchased from Amazon & eBay this year. Both boys had eclectic wish lists this year. The highlights are mango pudding, a cloning machine, a sewing machine, a magic wand, a board book out of print for 20yrs, a toy McDonald's, & toy UFO. I got 8yo a Go Pro type action camera in lieu of the cloning machine. Seriously, for $49, it's awesome. My mom bought the big stuff & I got the rest. This is the 1st Christmas in years that we're not scraping two pennies together & they've always been grateful for whatever they get. I got hubby a Giants hat & a bunch of peaceful meditation things for mom. She likes baskets of assorted things. My mom has me order her stuff too.
I love the new Prime Photos. I'm worried about Prime Music though, they're making changes that I'm not sure about yet.
But yeah, love me some Amazon.

I'm an Amazon junkie. Seriously. Amazon says we've been customers since 2004.

We have an Echo, and I adore having Prime Music on that. I'm using their photo service. Right now, I'm watching a movie through a Fire Stick and Prime Video. We have Kindles, yes multiples, and have used the Prime Free Time before. I use their new Audible channels, their new Prime Reading that gives access to up to 10 books, along with the free monthly rental. I now live in a Prime Now area, so I'm dying to try that out! I do get delivery from Amazon, which is a little weird, I'll be honest. No Brown Truck, or White truck, just Amazon.

I've done the Prime Pantry items, and the Add on items. We used Subscribe and Save for diapers and it was so awesome! Our Wish Lists are updated for Christmas shopping this year - I love that you can add things not on Amazon to them! I love their pre release guarantee on movies and video games. I've got deals bookmarked for Black Friday.

I am an Amazon junkie. I should probably be cut off. :giggle

I don't use the new Twitch benefit. Do you @scrappyjedi ?

I am a total comparative shopper. I check all the sites, even visit the stores near us, if the item warrants comparative pricing. I have consistently found my Amazon.ca prime membership totally worth it.

I'm still working through the savings of Kindle unlimited vs BookBub in Canada, but so far so good.

In Canada, the product and pricing is not as good. We don't have a lot of what the U.S. amazon has. With the U.S. exchange it isn't worth it to shop online much for the U.S. site. Too bad, b/c I wish I could shop more across the border.

Check Amazon.ca. I don't find it's about the pricing as much as the value of the Canadian Dollar. I just bought a car seat for my grandchild for 149.00 CAD at Amazon.ca which was 260.00 CAD at a discount baby store near us. I have not been disappointed. I have never had a bad experience ordering or returning, and I order a lot.

I am so spoiled by Amazon shipping, they have me hooked. Love their original series and Prime music has everything I could want. Thinking about adding an echo for Christmas.

I can no longer figure out the free monthly book loan. Does it still exist after the rollout of Prime reading? And what is this Twitch?

Also, the shipping can be pricey for us too. I can buy my stevia through amazon.ca which is cheaper than in the store but the shipping makes it more expensive than in the store. It definitely is a deterrent to shop too much online right now.

I thought it did? I know I got one in October, but maybe it's gone now? I'll check later.

Twitch is a gaming thing of some sort. I remember someone mentioning it before, but I didn't know what it was.

I really like them. I haven't had any problems with delivery, the items are always worth the money, actually I bought my new crutches (after 13 years with the ones they gave me in hospital in 2003!) they are great, safer than the basic ones, my doctor said these are the Ferrari of the crutches LOL because they even have one of those reflective lights so people can see you in the dark (these are black) I buy a lot of Kindle books for 99p, bought our filter water bottles, lots of kitchen items too... yes, I love them!

I didn't even know that Amazon had that feature in Prime now! I'll have to check it out.

I use Amazon constantly! I have Prime to use for the business (the ability to have parts here in two days or overnight is worth the price of admission), but we've since been able to cancel Netflix because of streaming which more or less cancelled out the yearly cost all on its own.

There are also so many items (computer cables, art supplies, even car parts) that are easier to find and way less expensive on Amazon than anywhere else, and it's really nice to be able to order them shipped in rather than having to run all over town trying to see if anyone carries them.

We're a big Amazon Prime family. That being said, we have noticed that the price for Amazon Prime is not always the lowest, so sometimes it is better to get the same item elsewhere and pay the shipping.

It's funny how few of us enjoy shopping any more. My dh is one who really would prefer that I not use Amazon as he says it puts so many businesses out of business, but then I don't see him going shopping almost at all unless he is away somewhere and needs a shirt or slacks etc and then he'll go to Walmart if he just wants it for the week or two or Target if it's more of a long term buy. So it's unlikely that using Amazon is going to put either of those two out of business.

I buy my tea and Stevia packets on Amazon and definitely used books. If I find a series and the libraries don't have book 5 or 6 e.g. it's riight to Amazon. I don't use a lot of the other services but should consider them. I've just never taken the time to look...

Love, love, love it! I live in a rural are and not a lot of shopping around so it's super convenient for me. Plus with the 7 kids it's sometimes just easier to do some late night shopping than to get everyone loaded up in the van and drag them around.

I probably order something every other day...my poor UPS guy.

Oh... and we're getting an Amazon Bookstore soon by our house. It's being met with lots of resistance.

Why? Just curious. I guess it could be the idea that Amazon put a lot of bookstores out of business and now they are opening up shops?

I think the bookstores are sort of strange. They don't have all.the.books. Just the top-rated books on Amazon. I like them, but when I went into the one in Seattle, I had read a good percentage of the books that were there, so it was a little disappointing. :giggle I was glad I hadn't made the trip just for that (it was a side stop). I did like the fact that you can have them link your purchase at the store to your online, so you see everything you've purchased (and can transfer to Goodreads).

I <3 Amazon. My garage is *literally* filled the the ceiling with Amazon boxes. The Amazon delivery guys are frequently the only people I talk to all day! I have my PB2 on automatic delivery and it's the only place I can find the Face Shop Rice Water Bright line without paying a fortune in shipping. And they have my favorite ugly nightshirts for dirt cheap. All our toiletries and household stuff come from Amazon. I only wish they didn't throw everything in such massive boxes! I just opened a giant box that housed a single, tiny item.

That's it... Amazon (and actually the big chain stores like Borders and B&N) ran a lot of independent booksellers out of business and now they're putting in a brick and mortar store. Also, it's coming to an area by me called the "Southport Corridor" which was a cute little shopping and dining area of local stores. But lately, more and more big chains have moved in, running out the local stores (Gap, J. Crew, Anthropologie, Athleta, Lululemon, etc.)... an Amazon bookstore is another non-local business on that street.

I was curious how much of a "real" bookstore it would be... it's interesting that it's just top rated books. We were also wondering if it would be part package pick-up as well. Package theft is a major city issue, so we thought it might be possible that you could have your packages sent there.
