We live in a pretty rural area, the population of the nearest town is 25,000 - and the shopping choices there are very poor - there is a WalMart but I despise WalMart and go only when I have no choice.

I have started buying a lot of "everyday" items from Amazon Prime Pantry. I also buy many misc. items @ Amazon as well - and will do the majority of my Christmas shopping there too. Their customer service is usually excellent - returns are easy too.

Do you use Amazon? How do you feel about it?

I do almost all my Christmas shopping there. You might have to compare with some things but overall they are pretty good prices. I also have Prime with free shipping. It's so worth it to me. I have a hard time with the malls and even Walmart so it's nice to be able to sit and shop. Last year we were able to send son #2 Christmas through Amazon. The gifts weren't wrapped but he opened boxes. You can watch and see what's being delivered so you can tell them if they can open early or not. They are great about returns and replacing broken items. Can't say enough.

We use Amazon all the time. We upgraded to prime when they had their promo last year. I think it was 79 dollars for it. I like the fact that every month you get a free book through kindle first if you live in the states and the two day shipping with Sunday deliveries. We use it a lot for cat supples.

I love Amazon. I did the trial of Prime last year at Christmas and did most of my shopping there. I despise the stores and malls this time of year. I signed up for Prime yesterday during their promo for $79 and I am just tickled. I think I may start doing more of my every day shopping there now that I have it! I'm with you on the despising WalMart thing!!

I love Amazon! We live in the city and I rarely go to the big box stores, due to logistics. I went all of the time when we lived in the 'burbs in Texas and spent way too much money impulse shopping each time. Online shopping helps me stick to just what I need (not saying that I don't pick up some extras every once in a while, but not nearly like I do in the actual store).

I've started using Prime Pantry lately. I used to order all of that kind of stuff (minus food) from Drugstore.com but they recently closed. I thought about trying Boxed.com, but their selection wasn't as complete as I needed it to be.

We have prime and I'm completely spoiled by it. Living where we live, a lot of stuff can be same day delivery. We also have Amazon Lockers near us which we have stuff sent to if we think we might not be home when the item is delivered.

Customer service is sooo unbelievably great too. One year did a massive Christmas gift order and had it sent to my husband's work thinking it was safer than having it delivered to home (we lived on a busier street with no real secluded place to leave a package). The entire huge box disappeared once it was signed for at my husband's building's mail room. We didn't realize this until two days before Christmas (my husband had just been collecting boxes in his office and didn't count to make sure they were all there). Amazon overnighted us the ENTIRE box of stuff again to be delivered on Christmas Eve... no questions asked! This wasn't their fault... but they took care of things anyway. Seriously impressed.

I absolutely love Amazon. I've been a Prime member for years and I don't remember the last time I went to the mall...especially at Christmas. I still shop the small stores on my town's Main Street, but for many things, I just order from Amazon.

I use both prime and Wal-Mart.com both free shipping. Black Friday I will be buying Jammies, pogo sticks, operation game at black Friday prices from Wal-Mart. Happy me.

Oh... and we're getting an Amazon Bookstore soon by our house. It's being met with lots of resistance.

I order ALL THE TIME from Amazon. Seriously, once or twice a week. I mostly love it although I do resent a bit that they have started charging more for Prime items. Isn't that what we pay a membership fee for? Still, the convenience is well worth it.

I love Amazon - they've saved my butt twice at Christmas when local stores failed me. I'm a huge fan!

I'm almost obsessed with it. I have Audible, I use their music, I use the tv service, I buy almost all gifts on there - I've started considering buying things like tp and paper towels, and cleaning products. Anything that could save me a trip. We have a local warehouse about 3 miles from our house, so we get a LOT of stuff delivered same day and next day at the latest, even though prime is 2 day :)

speaking of which - gotta go buy the kids' Santa gifts tonight. They're on sale! LOL

Oh, yes...I love Amazon! I really don't like going into stores, so I'll do anything I can do avoid it. I do almost all of my shopping through Amazon. Pretty much all of our Christmas shopping will be done on Amazon and I buy a ton of everyday supplies from there, too! We've been Prime members for years and it is so worth it for us.

I just started listening to Prime Music ... it's just as good as Pandora IMO.

We have prime and we love it! We shop Amazon a ton! I do almost all of my Christmas shopping on Amazon and I really love Prime Music too @JillW I like it better than Pandora for a lot more things. I am completely spoiled by 2 day shipping too. Love it!

I don't use Amazon much during the year but I usually get the bulk of the kiddos' Christmas gifts there.

I like prime for the free return shipping. If I'm looking for a dress or shoes for an occasion, I can order a couple, try them on at home, and ship back the ones I don't want!

In Canada, the product and pricing is not as good. We don't have a lot of what the U.S. amazon has. With the U.S. exchange it isn't worth it to shop online much for the U.S. site. Too bad, b/c I wish I could shop more across the border.

Agreed, @bcgal00 . It's not worth it in Canada. Also, I've had 3 experiences where I went to Amazon to order a rare book, which they said they had, and when it hadn't shipped more than a month later, I had to go through a customer service circus to get my money back. I've learned my lesson.

By far the majority of my online shopping is done at Chapters/Kobo for books, toys and gift items, and clothing from Land's End. It's mostly kids and husband clothing from Land's End.
