Alternative to Smash?

I love Daybooks - such as these from Amy. Coz they're not too big, it's really easy to fill one up, whether it be random smash style, or for a particular subject. If you do a google or youtube search for daybooks you'll find a ton of inspiration!

Here's a vid of one I filled recently

Hmm, not showing up in this post, guess I'm doing it wrong lol

I have to say this so inspired me I phoned around the remaining two art/scrap stores in Canberra to see if I could source one. Not on your life. Tried a bunch of internet stores in Australia - same thing. Ended up going to Etsy and even with the shipping, the four books only cost me $10 each.

I am sometimes SOOOOOOO very envious of you American gals who can walk into a store and walk home with what you want... for me, at least, I have to order in and then try and retain the spark of creativity that was there when I ordered... sometimes it can take weeeeeeeks for things to arrive and then you're like... meh.

Thank you for sharing this vid, Lita!

I started a Smash book and I find the coils too tight. I couldn't turn the pages at all and I don't even have them filled. So until they change that, it's not going to work. I bought a bind-it-all so I could make my own Smash-type book, but with a bigger coil. But I still haven't tried it yet. I've also used the Staples disc binding system and made a book. I blogged about it on TLP blog a couple of months ago: https://the-lilypad.com/blog/diy-notebook/

Christine, you always have such fun and creative memory keeping ideas and projects. Can I hire you to do mine. ;) But seriously, I love seeing the stuff you create. :)

i've tried using composition books but they end up with such flimsy pages when lots of photos/papers/flowers/stickers/whatever are put onto the pages.

i <3 christine's work. always.
