that is neat.. thanks Sokee..I only bought one refill which was the blender one.. I have not used them enough to worry yet about the refill but I will definitely check with Jerry;s Artorama which is where I bought a lot from. some I purchased on line though.
I think I have two copies of these books. When I was a little child I had a cubic coloring book it was really awesome to color it and I didn't find anything like this. Coloring books for adults are almost like the book I had once. Not a similar one maybe but It gives me similar feelings. I had two copies of these books. one is "magical forest" and the second one is a "city coloring book." city one always gives me inspiration but I didn't find any time to fill them. Sometimes I just open it and take a look into the pages. they are really beautiful. Maybe one day if I can find any free time I can do something. But I don't have any hope. I have a full time artclass and Spanish course and a toddler who makes me occupied for all day. So "hope to have some time" is really uncertain expectation for me I have no copics for this job but I have lots of different coloring pens, pencils, indian ink set, neon crayons, metalic ones, watercolor pencils, drawing pencils, tons of pastels I think I'm a pencil, crayon & all kinds of painting tools addict )
I bought one last year, such a beautiful colouring book, starting colouring and then remembered - I hate colouring in, always have since childhood. I have no patience, I'm not neat and I have little colour sense. Sigh, handed it over to my son's girlfriend and went on with the things I do love - knitting, crochet and scrapping. I still get tempted walking past all those wonderful books though
@klee73010 I always giggled at the term 'adult' coloring book. My sister got my daughter one for Christmas. On the front in big bold words it says, "ADULT coloring book." I was like, WHAT kind of book did you get my daughter!?! LOL.
i have bought big boxes, a fancy round thing, saying it for Kar, but they for me this is cool, gives the names of the orginal 50 colors http://www.crayola.com/free-coloring-pages/americas-50-favorite-crayons-coloring-pages/
I am totally addicted to it! After Nikolai goes to bed, I plop on the couch and color, doodle/zentangle or scrap. I have all kinds of markers but mostly I use Sharpies and Bic markers. I have a few Copic markers (ones I found on clearance) but cant justify the cost for a big set. As far as coloring books I can see 10 from where I am right now. Lol!!
Love all of this post. When the "adult" coloring books came out, I said "paying $20 for a coloring book is stressful for me. The dollar store has plenty". On & off I've colored forever. I always buy the biggest box of crayons for variety. The older I get though, the fussier my arthritis gets. So, I won't be jumping into this craze. I save my hands for scrapping and chatty pad.
Sigh.....another thing I love that I just don't have time for right now. I'll be glad when this move is over & everything has settled down. My mom loves to color too, and does some other crafty type things, so I'm looking forward to some creative evenings with her.
I have always loved coloring, but even as an adult, I still prefer to color in kids coloring books! I can remember coloring a lot 9 years ago when I was pregnant with my first...long before the adult coloring fad came along.
I Love it and do it all the time! There are so many free online resources for pages to color too. My favorite are ones like these: http://www.coloriages-adultes.com/animaux/?image=animaux__coloriage-difficile-cerf-zoom__1 and this site has pages and pages and pages of free ones to download!! I print them out on card stock and I use just plain old colored pencils. I don't try to get all artsy fartsy with them I just use them to relax. I am very critical about staying in the lines though. OMG it drives me crazy if I accidentally get out of the line.
I love coloring! I can't resist Hello Kitty coloring books like a few others have mentioned, and I like some of the adult coloring books, too. I found an awesome Star Wars one randomly one day at Sam's Club, and there's a Doctor Who book coming soon. I use colored pencils in books since the ones I have are two-sided and Copics would bleed through, but I do love copics for coloring stamps!
Totally!! My coloring night is at my local Fraternal Order of the Eagle club. There may or may not be cocktails & shots involved.
Every Sunday in my daughter's class at church, they print out a new adult-style coloring page. She always brings home 2, and we try to find time to sit and color together. We both love the together time, and I love taking a minute to just focus on that one thing. I find I prefer to color w/ colored pencils.
I usually doodle/zentangle my own. Sometimes I color them, using watercolor or colored pencils. Most of the time, I just shade them after I've doodled them.
There are coloring books with adult words in them. I really want to get this one for myself. I found it while looking for coloring books for my 8yo. She loves the Mandala and zentangle coloring pages. I've decided that when my kids want to color, I can color my own pages. THEY don't like to share their pages rotfl.
@klee73010 there are some that are quite... raunchy, and as OK as I am with "adult" words, I don't want my kids to find my coloring book and freak out lol. But I just can't resist that one! Also, DH got me the Doctor Who coloring book for Valentine's Day, but I haven't received it yet--it's backordered on Amazon. But I can't wait to get it! I will NOT be sharing it with my kids lol!
Do you tear your pages out of the books before you color or do you leave them in the books? I showed my husband a coloring book just before Christmas and told him I was thinking about it. Not enough to buy it, but I was thinking it might be fun to try. He bought me two books for Christmas, a set of color pencils, a sharpener, and a box to keep them all in. He also bought me two Harry Potter coloring books, but those didn't arrive until last month. I thought I was going to tear the pages out before I colored them, but when I had the books in my hand, they seemed too nice to tear apart. I've only colored a little bit of one page (while I was trying to restore my iPad; I colored during the syncing minutes. It failed, in the end -- it is actually in a worse state than it was before I started and I'm thinking about taking it to the Apple store -- probably because I wasn't paying attention to it.) I haven't gotten back to it since then, although I would like to.
