Thank you for letting us know Kat. I knew Melissa from several CT's but hadn't kept in touch with her. I didn't even know she had been sick. share my condolences with her family and let them know she had such a positive impact on the scrapping community.
She had been diagnosed with her cancer around a year ago, I believe. You always hope in the back of your mind that everyone will get well, and with her not telling us how dire her situation was made it a bit more shocking. She will be missed!
Awe... so sad! I always loved seeing her Disney pages. She was an amazing scrapper and will be missed.
I didn't know her personally, but I was a big fan of her disney pages! I will miss her pages. I am so sorry to hear this news. Isn't this one of the most powerful things about scrapping though? We have her pages to remember her. They will always be here in the gallery. Her family has all her pages to remember her. We are creating pages for our families, our children, our selves, but for people to remember these things long after we or other family members are gone. I am going to start scrapping more things about my parents that I want my niece & nephew to remember (or one day my own children). I think I will make a book about grandma and grandpa for my niece and nephew. Please send my deepest sympathies to her family. What a terrible loss for then.
Thanks for this post Kat. My sister introduced me to Melissa and her beautiful pages have always inspired both of us. I was shocked to hear of her passing from Britt but I know she is now free of all the pains she was suffering through.
This is such a true statement. I've scrapped for 10 years now but I haven't printed anything. As galleries have closed, I've lost the complete galleries I've had. I sit in my office today organizing files on my computer and asked my husband to help hook up old hard drives so I'll at least have a better digital collection of what I've done. I think we should all work towards those memories being able to be passed down. I know Melissa's nieces were so important to her and I hope they will have a way to view all the wonderful pages.
I didn't know her, but I'm checking out her pages now. They are beautiful & I was just thinking this same thing.
I saw Britt's post about this today. So sad. Keep us posted on what we can do. Did she have spouse or kiddos?
