I am headed to a indoor water park tomorrow with our cub-scout pack. I am seriously debating on if bringing my camera is a good idea. I would love to get some pictures but at the same time I am afraid of my good camera or even my phone being lost or stolen. I have never been to a water park before so I have no experience to draw from. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you are going to be involved in the water activities, then I'd say don't bring it unless you have water protected devices and/or equipment.

I always have my phone, and wear clothes with pockets. But if you're going to be IN the water, that would be more difficult. I like to sit on the sides so I can take pictures. Depends on the place. If you can't get pictures during, you may try posing in front of the building/place before and/or after, or a pic of the tickets.

A lot of amusement parks I know of have lockers, and here in Arizona, some of the water parks have lockers. Good luck!

Chel that is a great idea. I should have thought of getting one of those waterproof cases before the night before. I will have to stop somewhere tomorrow to see if I can find something like it.

What I do at water parks, since I'm not as into being in the water as my kids anyway, is take some pics at the beginning, protect my phone (put it in a locker or let DH/friend hold it), go in the water for a bit, and depending on if I get tired of it before the kids, perhaps towel dry a bit and take more pics. Then I at least have some pics, and I didn't really want to be splashing around the whole time anyway so I don't feel like I missed out on anything.

Totally too late since I'm sure you're already there, but a few years ago I invested in an inexpensive waterproof point and shoot camera for occasions like this. It doesn't get used all that often, but on the times I do use it, I LOVE that I have it. Totally stress free shooting. I bought the floating wrist strap to go with it, so if it ever gets dropped, it just bobs along the top of the water.
