I'm back helping out a dear friend with another Photography challenge. It's not quite midnight here, but I'm super sleepy and figure that no one will mind if I post early, especially since we're near the end of the month. =)

January 29: Tell a Story Through Photos (Photography Challenge)

The saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed through a single image and that message is conveyed more effectively than a description would. However, sometimes a single image is not enough to tell the whole story. Sometimes we need to show the beginning, middle and end or we need to show a scene, as well as, the details.

The purpose of this challenge is to tell a story through photos only. For this challenge, you must include one or more photos that tell a story by themselves WITHOUT journaling. They do not need to be new photos if you have existing photos that match the requirements for this challenge, however you may NOT use stock photos.

Tips for telling a story through photos

    1. Include the BEGINNING, MIDDLE, and END.
Don’t just focus on one part of your story. Start at the very beginning, then the middle, and don’t forget to capture the ending.

    2. Include the little DETAILS
Think about what little details you could capture to help tell the story. What is the story you are telling and what about the story do you want to remember the most? When put together, the little details can tell an amazing story.

    3. Include different ANGLES
Try to think about possible angles you can capture details from to tell your story. An image from one angle may tell a different story than another. Shoot from below or above, the left side or the right, straight on or through a window/tree/grass, etc… Try to change the focus from the subject to the details. Again, think about what the story is you are trying to tell.

    Requirements:
    1. One or more photographs that tell a single story.
    2. NO journaling, words or word art, or title
    3. You may include the date

Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Please post your page in your page thread you created in this forum. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. You should also post your page here in this thread, and people can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers.

I know you used the photo of you in the cap and gown for my other challenge but maybe a complementary page? That photo alone screams a thousand words and tells a story on its own. It screams of hard work, perseverance, and says "I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roooooar". So... If you don't get some pet cooperation it's an idea :)

Okay I was thinking it needed more. So if I did some with cap and gown then unzipped to wonder woman it would tell a story. I got caught up in more of a storyboard idea or something. Thank you for the help.

I don't think I've ever done a page without any journaling, word art, or title. This is going to be tough!

No title or word art is killing me! And as I'm just about done with my layout- I realized my background paper had wording on it- is that okay? I'm sorta thinking not... :/

Since you have the moon why not find a sun? You could even tuck it behind the picture a bit to imply setting sun. Love this great idea!

It bothered me way more than I thought it would to not have any word art, title and journaling. It was a great challenge, nonetheless.
