I don't know how many of you are familiar with the art of Juliette Crane, but I thought I'd share a bit of her inspiration with you. Here is a finished piece from her, but I've also linked to the blog post where she shared a multi-step progression of this piece. Just click on the image to be taken to the blog post. There is a video you can watch where she flips through pages of her upcoming book (filled with oodles of inspiring pics) https://youtu.be/iaaQqrnOJZw And a whole section of other free video samples of various projects from her site http://www.juliettecrane.com/videos/#/ Can't you just imagine doing something like this digitally??? With products from the M3 designers and all of the goodies you certainly have in your M3 stash (and otherwise)... you could totally do a digital painting.
gorgeous, I would like to give it a shot. Thanks for bringing this artist to our attention, Kimberlee, I've never heard of her before.
I LOVE Juliette Crane... we must be thinking along the same lines, I was only on her website a week or so ago! Her videos are very inspiring and encouraging - makes you want to sign up for one or all of our courses!!!
I'm going to take her mini course and get started with painting. I like her style and the course sounds like a great place to start for a novice like me. If anyone has other recommendations for a fairly cheap ($35-$80) online class to get started with "mixed media, painting" type art class please let me know.
If you follow Mindy Lacefield on her blog or facebook, she offers some discounts regularly. http://www.mindylacefieldart.com/p/online-workshops_4.html She's very sweet and genuine. Carla Sonheim (in Seattle) has year-long classes that are more expensive, but she's starting a lunch-hour class series that is going to be $25 per class. She's also a sweetheart https://carlasonheim.wordpress.com/ And if you start saving now, Lifebook (for 2016) isn't too far out of that price range. It is an incredible deal. It is about $120 for the year and you get lessons almost every week (from over 25 different teachers) http://www.willowing.org/life-book-2015/ Alisa Burke is awesome and offers a lot of reasonable courses and has sales often as well. http://www.shopalisaburke.com/collections/online-classes Jeanne Oliver has a ning network with online classes as well. She hosts a variety of different artists who run classes through her. She offers some courses called Studying Under the Masters which run about $80, but you can learn a lot about painting. Not as much mixed media as formal painting, but still amazing. Jane Davenport is a bit more expensive, but I have a serious girl crush on her. http://janedavenport.com/all-workshops/ I'm a bit of an enabler where online classes are concerned
Thanks, Kimberlee, I'm going to research all the links. I'm excited to get started during the coming year.
