    Like nails on a chalkboards for me! I wish I could tune it out, but I can't. There are some commercials that I turn the volume off because of the eating or drinking noises :giggle

    I have to say, I have music on all day because I can't stand anything, I thought it was just me getting old, so good news, but there is one thing I'm worried about....the example they cite (Darwin, Proust) were very, very tortured minded people..... I do NOT want to end up like that

    I went to the actual study, and they measure two different types of creativity. One type blocks out noise well and the other type doesn't block. Not to mention that 'creative' doesn't really mean 'is a genius'... but who am I to rain on everyone's parade. Of course everyone at The Pad is off the charts! ;)

    I do hate most science reporting! The headlines they come up with are, at best, misleading, and quite often just completely wrong. On the bright side, I don't think there's any reason to think you'll be a tortured mind, Cyn!

    It's statistically proven that most researchers accumulate the information which supports their hypothesis. So... It's all subjective. I still dislike noise though.
