Oh no Laura!!! Best wishes on a quick and speedy recovery! I completely understand what you are going through, I had sinus surgery to deal with allergies, an internal nasal reconstruction and to remove a solid mass from my sinus cavities. My husband unfortunately had to also have sinus surgery a couple years ago.

From living through it, once myself, and once in sympathy with a man (you know how men handle illness/injury), my best advice is to take it easy, DO NOT BLOW YOUR NOSE, don't be tempted to bend over in any way/shape/form, and stock up on boost, slimfast, or a similar liquid meal replacement. You can eat following the surgery, but it can be very uncomfortable at times swallowing with the nasal pressure. We found the best way to cope was to supplement with the liquid drinks, snack, and rest.

If they use packing, be sure to follow instructions and irrigate your sinus passages exactly as doctor says, don't be stingy using the nasal spray they tell you to use.

If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to pm me!

Hugs and prayers your way!! From Denise's advice above - definitely agree and recommend the taste of Boost in comparison to Ensure... Guess you get a kick start on bathing suit season - the hard way!!!

Hoping for easy surgery, quick healing, helpful family and friends to wait on you hand and foot and as little pain as humanly possible. May the surgery take care of all your issues and make you feel 100% when it's all done.

We'll try our best not to break everything while you're gone...

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Do what they tell you and relax. Stress is your enemy. Peace.

Thank you so much for all of the well wishes and prayers. I am very grateful. :wub

Denise, that's great information...I hadn't even thought about not being able to eat! I just added a case of Boost to my pre-surgery shopping list. I am definitely going to do my best to follow those instructions. My mom is flying in to help out with the kids and be my nurse so that will make it very easy to recover quietly.
