I keep hearing some teachers where I work didn't get any kids at their houses. We got around 200!!!! How was in your house?
We are never home - either out trick-or-treating or at the neighborhood Halloween party. I think it will be fun to give out candy when my girls are a little older though.
Not sure... Lets do some math.... I bought 16 bags of candy with at least 20 pieces in each bag. So that would be 320. So somewhere in the upper two hundreds lower 300 would be a good guess. I bought quite a bit less candy this year than normal because I forgot to. It also seemed like less kids were out this year. So that number is actually lower than what we normally get.
Wow, Jewell (and Dalis). We got... ummm... ZERO, hehe. But we live in the country and our driveway is literally 1/2 mile long . I don't even buy candy (sad for me, right?). I was actually out with littles, trick or treating in GM neighborhood. But my oldest son was home. I had no fear he would get any knocks and told him not to answer if he did, LOL.
It was 5 degrees Celsius (41 degrees Fahrenheit) and raining, which turned to snow, but this does not deter Canadian kids from trick-or-treating! We had 46 kids, which was awesome because this is an older neighbourhood!
We did not count but it was lots more than usual and people seemed to be out later, perhaps because it was Friday. We missed the first 50 minutes of dark while out with our grandsons too. Kind of hard to count by the number of candies when a 2 year old was helping pass out candy and he would grab a handful from the bowl. Those were the lucky kids!
First year in our new place...and we got around 150 kids. We were warned ahead of time to expect about 250-300 kids...and everyone was really surprised that we got so few. It was awesome!!
Well, we went around our neighborhood for about 35-40 minutes at the start of trick-or-treating and then they wanted to go home and hand out candy. Then it was super slow. I think we had about 10-15 kids max. worked out well for my boys because they got to keep all the extra candy. It was REALLY cold and windy, so I think most kids bailed early. The ones that did come to our house were older.
It was cold dark and raining so hardly any. Maybe 12 the first hour and then I shut it down so we could go have dinner.
This was our first year in our new house so we didn't know what to expect. I think our doorbell rang about 10 times total (I was out with the kids, so I'm relying on my husband for that count). I think the largest group was a group of about 5, but some of the times the doorbell rang, it was just one kid. I don't think we'll ever get a ton, but I think this year was particularly light. It was super cold, windy and it would randomly sleet so hard you couldn't see. We hit two blocks with the kids and they came home with their bags full... that's a city perk since houses are close together and all of the multi-unit buildings. We don't have to go far to have a successful trick-or-treating night!
We got around 150, it was pretty steady for about 3 hrs. That's the norm for us. We live behind a school and it's a big family neighborhood, lots of kids around.
We were not home but if we were, I expected to see none. When I was growing up, there was no such thing as going trick-or-treating in my neighborhood.
We got 42 this year, and that's way down from our first year when we got 125. Our neighbourhood is growing up and there aren't that many families with little kids anymore. DH took the kids out while I stayed home handing out candy, that way we don't miss anyone. It rained a little, but was around 8C which is pretty warm for Halloween here! Our boys were tired after about an hour, but came home with a full large-sized gift bag of candy, so they made out well. We usually dole out a couple candies a day for them, but this year, we let it slip and they are almost down to the bottom of their bags already!
I have no idea, we left a big bowl out, like we do every year. We are always at a party and the kids go trick or treating. This time we actually had some candy left when we got home.
