lol hoping typing it out makes it more official and keeps me on track...we shall see. So far master bedroom, living room and 2 hall closets are pretty much packed. Today finish packing office and DD's bedroom. Tomorrow pack other two hall closets (we have homeschool group tomorrow so we'll be gone for a good chunk of the day + it's DD's birthday). Thursday...begin packing kitchen, also finish anything else in the other rooms that still needs to be done. Friday...DH is working. I will finish packing kitchen. Hoping after DH gets home he'll be up to helping me break down and pack electronics. This is the day I'm dreading most...it's a super long day for DH at work (18 hours usually..beginning at 3:30 in the morning). He wakes up at 2:00 am and gets back around 9 or 10 at night. The electronics might have to wait until Sat. morning. Saturday...Any last minute packing, start breaking down furniture while we wait for my sister and brother in law and their trailer, load trailer. After they leave, clean, clean, clean. Pack bathrooms except for things we need for sat night/sun morning. Sunday...load up the car and leave early to Arkansas. Get pets set up in their homes, once we get there, and then unload the trailer. Hopefully we get to spend some time with family as well, since we haven't seen them since Halloween. I'm totally stressed just looking at this. I'm really really hoping I make it through the next few days. A week and a half to plan and move is just crazy. I don't recommend it. I'm just glad that by this time next week it'll all be over. We have internet for the remainder of our time here but it will be gone once we get settled at my sister's place...since they live somewhere that there isn't reliable high speed internet. That's going to be the hardest part for me I think. Thank goodness for smart phones!
Best of luck with your move! It sounds like you've got it all planned - I'm impressed! Let us know how it goes.
Goodness, I can't imagine trying to pack and move in less than 2 weeks. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and that you get settled back in soon.
Thanks, ladies...DD's room is about 3/4 done now! Honestly the office and kitchen are the rooms that scare me most. We'll see how the office goes this afternoon. And Rachel...we have gotten rid of so much already...plus we're posting a few things on Craigslist, and I'm sure there will be a few more boxes and bags taken to the thrift stores on Saturday.
Oh my... I am exhausted just reading this!! Whew!! Good luck with the move! I hope all goes as planned. You will deserve a day at the spa afterwards!
lol well the office didn't go as well as planned but there is a good solid start. I knew this room would be tough because it houses all our computers(3!!!), printers (3!!!), paperwork, project life stuff, and homeschool stuff...not to mention just the random stuff that we didn't know what else to do with always winds up in here. I know DD's room is pretty close though, so definite progress was made today. I'm just hoping we've still got some energy after homeschool group tomorrow. It's always a pretty long and tiring day, but I'm so glad DD is going to get to go say bye to her friends (esp since it's her birthday...i heard a rumor that one of the moms is bringing her cupcakes). I also found out today that my brother is coming up with my sis and bil on Sat...so hooray for an extra set of hands!
Glad you're making progress. Sounds like it's a good thing you have a change of pace for tomorrow to get away from the packing for a little bit. I'm glad your DD gets to say goodbye to all her friends that way too. Keep at it and it'll be over before you know it!
Yay, so glad the family is pitching in!!!! I hope you are enjoying a great day today with your homeschooling buddies.
Oh my goodness I am tired just reading what you have to do... here's to an easy(ish) time packing... don't forget to take time to just breathe... hugs to you
How's it going Sarah? I really feel for you this week, there are few things i hate worse than moving. You can't see me but I'm cheering you on! You can do it! And happy birthday to your DD.
Wow. You sure have everything planned in spades and then some. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the office was just a little starter hickup and that everything else will go smoothly!
((hugs)) When you get good and settled you and the kids should meet us up at the zoo one day and we can make a day of it. Give you something to look forward to in all the craziness. (Or we could meet for dinner or lunch just me and you, my treat, ya know, if you're sick of kids by then.)
Soooo...moving sucks. lol. DH told me yesterday that he was happy that I got his favorite part of packing, which is the point where I stop giving a whoop and start pitching stuff in the garbage. I filled up 2 big garbage bags yesterday. Still haven't tackled the two closets (yesterday was almost a non day...with everything else going on the 2 garbage bags and 2 packed boxes were all that got accomplished). Hoping that today I can just get as much done as possible. I would love to have everything done but the bathrooms and kitchen by the end of the day, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I have all day tomorrow for the kitchen..and then I'm not worried about the bathrooms until after the trailer leaves since that's all stuff that we're going to take in the car with us. I can't believe it's only two days before we load up all our stuff and send it on it's merry way. Scary. Trish...I would love to meet up with you. I love kids so that's not a problem..I only have one of my own and she's in the moody preteen phase of her life. I'm just hoping that things fall into place once we get to Arkansas (that's not too much to ask, right?). I really hate that I'm having to rely on family to survive right now, but on the flip side I'm extremely grateful that I have a family that is willing to help us.
