My Labrador ate something that didn't agree with her. She is normally so good about going out, or whining to get out. We all must have slept thru it, so she left us 3 piles of disgusting stuff. Of course, my steam cleaner died. Hubby said, get another...asap! lol I was looking at all these cleaners for pet smell while finding the right carpet cleaner...and they all had hydrogen peroxide in them (the expensive ones) I got the normal cheapy one, and added 1/4 cup of HP to the mix, and oh my carpets are so clean. Even the old stains gone. Feeling rather smart, since Hydrogen Peroxide is less than a $1 for big bottle!
My dog did this just yesterday, and I had to use our steam cleaner on it! So clue me in. Did you add the hydrogen to the soap, or just use it straight out?
well according to Martha...she says that the HP is watered down enough to use on carpet...but I was taking no chances I used the same amount of HP as I did soap! It really really worked good, it smelled kinda funny when wet, but it is so nice now that it is dry.
yes, and today I am feeling rather cute, and with all this smartness, finding it hard to be humble...bhahahhaha
Just told my hubs about this. He sells industrial cleaning supplies for his company and he said that there carpet cleaner has HP in it and said that yes....adding some to regular carpet cleaner would work too. Yay for being so smart!
Wellllll. One of our twins once cut his toe. They have an insane pain tolerance and he didn't tell me he'd done it, and I was making supper. Eventually I saw a blood drop on the kitchen floor and had to figure out who'd left it - and he'd been running all over the house with that bleeding toe. Blood spots everywhere! It took me forever to get all the blood spots out of the carpet (They were small spots and scattered throughout the house) but a Q-Tip with HP and a wet washcloth took care of it! That's not an interesting answer.
Very clever Anne - we will have to try that too. When we bought our house, there were several carpet stains that were cleverly camouflaged, and we have yet to get them out despite multiple cleanings.
