I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you're energized & ready to take on Monday! What do you have planned for the week? I don't know about you, but I have a to-do list a mile long this week! Today, I need to do a quick (hahaha) Target shop, go to the pharmacy, take DD #1 to the Children's hospital lab for her semi-annual blood draw and then be back in time to meet with a concrete guy at 4. I've been dreaming of a stamped concrete patio and outdoor living space for a while, so I am getting some bids on it this week. Then, I'll know whether it is going to stay a dream. On Tuesday, our very own Sara and I are making some plans to go to CHA this summer. Hopefully, I am even going to convince my partner in crime, Kelly, to come too. Tuesday afternoon, I am teaching a friend how to use Lightroom. On Wednesday, my BF has the day off from work, so I think I am going to play hooky and do something fun with her. I *hope* that my parents are going to make it for a visit mid-week, so I also need to get their room ready. At the end of the week, I have a truckload of mulch coming so that I can remulch my gardens. Then, of course, there's the usual laundry, meals, etc... Phew! I better get busy!
back to normal for us. i hope. kids are back to school. i'm back to work. hubby is back to work. this week meagan starts softball. we also have gymnastics and lacrosse as usual. allergy shots. and i'm helping in meagan's classroom one day this week. that's about it.
Today is all about cleaning after a busy weekend. And putting up new curtains in our office that we bought at IKEA. Other than that no plans until Friday when I'll be doing a lapbooking program for one of our homeschool groups that we attend.
Uber busy week here! This is the last week before income taxes so I need to finalize/file the last four returns. Son has two lacrosse games. I have to do the program for his Eagle Ceremony this weekend so I can take to the printer. I have to finish the slideshow (I'm up to 2010). I have to order the cake, food etc. It's Senior Night on Friday so I get to walk across the field with my son and ex-husband. My daughter and her boyfriend will be in Friday night for her brother's senior night and stay for his Eagle Ceremony. (makes me remember I need to borrow an air mattress!). Let's not forget tweaking the script for the Eagle Ceremony to fit's my son's wishes. This is one of those weeks that my job is going to get in the way of real life. But my son will officially be an Eagle Scout on Sunday, so that will make it all worthwhile!
I'm looking forward to a normal week here! We have lots of homeschool to catch up on after a surprise visit from my sister in law and being sick one day last week!
ohhhh today I wake up feeling a little sad - I wish i could be in home ( i mean where i was born, where i feel that I fit in) I miss everything about it #dramadramadrama
We've been gone a week at my parents', so the next couple days will be catching up on laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc. I also have a in-person job interview tomorrow morning and a phone job interview for a different company Wednesday morning. The first is a writing position which I am hoping I can talk the guy into working at least half of the time from home (although, as far as I know, I could do it all from home), and the other is working as a PT legal assistant for a law firm that specializes in adoption and surrogacy law. I've had way too many interviews over the last 2 years to get excited abt anything yet. A quasi-friend of mine works at the first company (and is how I heard abt the job in the first place), so maybe that will help. Oh, and I finally found my papers from AWITL 2011 before I left for my parents' last week, so maybe I will work on figuring out how I want to scrap that.
Yep, back to the norm for me too and I'm looking foward to it, back to work and school. Slower paced, after the Easter Holiday prep and gathering... This week is my last week at my current employer of 13 years, I'm done on Wednesday. I took Thursday and Friday off to scrap, read and Spring clean. And then I start my new job on Monday; I'm very excited!!! It's gonna be a good week, I can feel it! I hope you all have a wonderful week too!
Another Day.....Another Dollar! Holla! Another week of waiting to see how I did on my interview 2 weeks ago. I won't find out ANYTHING until next Wednesday, the 18th! The wait is killing me and if I do get the job, it'll be a huge $18K raise so I'm really wanting the job but then again, if I don't get it, that'll be okay too as I still have my job that I'm doing now and its not that bad either. I'll still be working for the school district, either way! And we have to get our taxes completed this week. I got on the H&R Block website and did a run-thru to see what we're looking like and just like I figured....we owe Federal $1721 and State $15. OUCH!!!!! I hate taxes!!!!!!!!!!!! So, other than being broke from paying the taxes and waiting and waiting and waiting and...... it's going to be a long week! But hey, life will get better next week! And I'll be turning an awesome, blossom **cough**cough** 47 **cough**cough** next week!
I've got the to do list that's a mile long, too, Laura! PLUS I have the entire elementary school yearbook due on Friday (how did I get roped into saying yes to that? lol) and it's only about 1/4 done... luckily, it should go fast now that I have most of the info I need collected and it's a matter of dropping it all in. But still, awk! Wish me luck, I hope I live through this week, sheesh!
Can I go back to bed??? I am so tired today! I fell asleep watching Game of Thrones last night - there are too many good shows on Sunday nights! Not much going on this week, but my niece's birthday party is this weekend. I didn't get to see the kids for Easter so I'm glad I'll get to spend time with the fam. I can't believe Taylor is going to be NINE!
It's great to hear about everyones' week!! Laura, Your week sounds about like mine. Today, the kids are home for the last day of Spring Break. I hope I can get my two products done fast so that I can take the kids to the park to fly their new Easter kites. Tonight, I have the gas company person, and electrician coming to the house... i've wanted to get one of those above ground pools for the kids to swim in for awhile (and I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet) Tuesday: Volunteering, Piano Lessons Wednesday: Gymnastic lessons Thursday: Designer Chat here at TLP Friday: Hopefully I can get to painting my house shutters and front door. They are an UGLY green color, and I'm dreaming of black shutters and a fun RED door. Saturday: Kiddos' Piano recital Friday-Sunday: I think I have to get to mulching our backyard too... it's been a few years and starting to look so icky as well.
Laura, we did a stamped concrete patio about two years ago and I must say that it is so completely awesome in every way. Whenever people come over they don't believe that isn't concrete! I LOVE it! We also put up a pergola with a sun shade in the middle of our patio and between those two things it has completely transformed our backyard from a space we never used, to a wonderful place we hang out all summer long! Good luck! Ours was very reasonably priced too, so hopefully that hasn't changed and you can get one too! You'll love it! Aw... Hugs Ana. How far away from home are you? We start baseball practices on Wednesday, but otherise it's a pretty normal week. Nothing too busy or crazy. My youngest has his first soccer game on Saturday too and is very excited about that.
Oh yeah... we're getting a trailer full of mulch this week too and will be doing that on Saturday. Must be spring!
today... catching up on sleep we missed out on this weekend... Friday the kids were up late... and Saturday and Sunday Asher missed a nap... and Isaac said his ear hurt again... so I made an appt for tomorrow to be checked and then it looks like we'll be heading to the ENT to probably get tubes put in... otherwise, it's the usual... homeschooling and ballet for Moriah and hopefully a week of getting back to normal routines Laura... if you guys go to CHA, we should totally meet up for dinner or something one night with some of the other girls in the Chicagoland area It's usually the weekend we head up to WI for vacation, but we'll be around here this year, working on the house...
Melanie... I wish that was all we had to pay in taxes. Just wrote out the check for state and it was over $5000. Big ouch. Next year should be better since my dh isn't working and we will have mounds of medical bills. Just a little work this week, cleaning, neuro appts to schedule surgery, helping a son look for work...
An unusually unscheduled week here. I just did a double-take when I checked the calendar and saw nothing on it but DS's Star Wars Club tomorrow! So just regular school stuff, house stuff, design stuff, and finishing up those darn taxes.
Good luck with the interview Mel! I am having a hard time getting back to the daily grind after my mom's visit, Spring Break and Easter. Our days are filling up though. Today I worked at the school library, took my son to a birthday party and have a Little League Board Meeting tonight. The kids start their Spring/Summer swim, soccer and baseball seasons this week so we have a lot of practices and games scheduled. And my oldest gets his Cub Scout Bear badge on Wednesday.
We just wrapped up our Spring Break and have had LOADS of family around on the weekends for the last month or so. I am so far behind on all sorts of things. I need to do tons of laundry and house recovery. We have baseball practices and games, and soccer games this week. Even though it will be busy, I am happy to be back into "normal" schedule mode!
