So we started puppy training classes last night. It's mostly just a socialization class, new puppies being fondled by their owners, eye contact, casual sit/downs and play time. (this is all kinda new for me, the last dog training classes I attended were very formal). Can I just say how much I love our puppy, Miss Molly? I know I'm biased, but seriously, she's a complete doll. She's quiet, well-behaved and loves to have fun! It was so cute last night...she was totally stuffed up on treats, so much so that she started refusing them and she was exhausted! She kept trying to climb up on my lap and stay there for a rest. Until...I let her off her leash to play with the other puppies and then she ran around the room like a crazy puppy, saying "catch me if you can!" She would wiggle her little tail and the other dogs and then run away. haha I'm a proud puppy mama. Now...about those child obedience classes, where I can register for those?
We were invited to repeat our puppy training class.... well behaved mine is not but he's almost eight years old now. Keep up that puppy discipline, they are a lot more pleasant to take places if they will mind you. I, of course, have no idea what that is like but I've seen it in other dogs.
We got our two dogs (mini daschunds) 1.5 yrs ago and when we did the classes we kept joking how the commands strangely worked on our boys, too... leave it! (when they are swiping something that's not theirs) heel (when they take off in crowded area) no (still working on mastering that one...) We kept laughing so hard about it! Those classes are great and help a ton.
Oh they're so sweet Andrea! I love those eyes and their coloring! There's a dachshund in Molly's class too. Here's Molly...
Thanks, Leah! They are the sweetest dogs! It has totally saved my sanity with having my baby go to 1st grade all day, so I'm not all alone! They are always wanting to sit in my lap (if I ever sit, lol). The boys have loved them, too. I had never had dogs growing up (we had every other pet known to man) and this was a big deal to do, but I have never regretted it! We love Buster & Lucy!
Awww, that sounds so cute Leah! My dog and I did an obedience course - she was about a year old when I adopted her and a bit older when we did the class. And let me just say, she should have flunked out! LOL!
ohmygosh leah, so adorable! socialization classes sound like a great idea!! maybe something i'll need to look into.
Oh I've just finished puppy preschool with my little guy, it was heaps of fun. Because of the breed of dog I have he was quite 'boofier' than the other puppies, so he flattened a couple of them in the first few weeks but towards the end a few of them had learnt how to flatten him which was a good thing. Enjoy your puppy preschool!
aww sounds like you both had fun,and when you find a class for the children please let me know where so i can sign up
