Well I am majorly behind. Life has been super crazy lately. I agree with the others and think I need to simplify and let go a bit. The process that really holds me up is the photos. I spend way too much time processing and printing and then not being happy with the printed results. I need to streamline that process and figure out a good workflow there.
I'm loving that I'm doing it, and loving that I've got a pretty good system - I have set aside a block of time each Sunday night to get it done for the week. I'm not loving it creatively, sadly, but I guess I still have my regular layouts for that. I'm also not loving that I've not been great taking photos lately. I'm trying not to compare my pages too much to all you amazing scrappers... and just focus on the photos and stories b/c that's what matters most to me for this project.
I'm caught up, still loving it (some weeks definitely more than others) and have settled into MY style. I'm not heavy on the embellishments, printing out a lot of the digital goodies and making photos more of the focus on my pages.
I'm caught up and feeling pretty impressed with the fact that we're ten weeks in! I was thinking ten weeks seemed like a big landmark, worth celebrating, when I saw this post. Since this is my first time through PL, I'm having a hard time imagining what it will be like to finish 52 weeks... I think I've got a system down. I'd ideally like for it to go a little more quickly. Currently I'm spending a LOT of time on my days off working on pages. I'd like to get into a routine of doing a picture/journal card/pocket a night, then just pull it all together on my days off. And my love affair with Costco photo printing has hit a rough patch. Two weeks in a row they've been sloppy on my printing, so my pictures come out with a white border on one side, and cropped off text on the opposite side. Still, it's faster than Shutterfly and I don't have to commit to picking a printer and keeping it stocked with supplies. We'll see. This forum totally keeps me motivated!
Fell behind last week but back on track. I'm finding it easier to scrap this year than last. Staying with the same format and just adding more journaling has been my goal for this year. I still need to print project 365 2011. I'm doing both project life (small version 4 x 6 card a week printing as I go) and project 365 (digitally project life format this year).
i am SOOOO far behind! i'm feeling a little frustrated because i just can't seem to find any time to sit down and get pics printed, even printing them at home. buggar! i'm so jealous of all of you who are so caught up (or close).
I just received my products a couple weeks ago so I'm way behind. Having problems with getting my photos printed. Walgreens is closest but when I print there things are getting chopped off. I'm getting frustrated. I did however buy some of the matte presentation paper some of you wonderful ladies suggested and printed some journal cards and they are LOVELY!!! Once I can get my photos printed correctly, I think I'll be good to go.
so great to read your updates!!! this forum is such a great motivator. i'm about on track. one week behind, but i'm good with that considering i like to have all my photos ready before i start working. i keep telling myself i should simplfy; however, i get to that simple point and just can't bear to leave it that way! mix-and-matcher, tinker-r that i am!
I just bought some print credits from persnickity, so I'm going to get all my pages that I have done so far printed. I can't wait to see them in my book, and then with them in there, I'll be able to see how it's going to look...and how I can start incorporating some hybrid pages in them. I was reading on Christine's blog where she mentioned how she had to start her next page because of the page protector she used on the page before. I forgot that if you're doing a paper page, you have to think about all those things! It's going to take more thought that I realized in getting started with hybrid. I'm bound and determined to try some though!!
I'm going backwards now... I had so many pictures this week that I wanted to scrap with all the awesome St. Patty's Day kits from here... and I'm going to do Week 10 with all the awesome Dr. Seuss kits from the Pad before I forget all that happened LOLOL... then I'll just keep going backwards until I'm caught up... I have a feeling I'll be light on the journaling on week 8 trying to remember what happened LOLOL
heather, i've thought about going backwards a bit too. i'm thinking it might help me feel a bit more caught up if i have the current weeks done. not sure if it would actually work like that though.
I haven't even started I am STILL waiting for my core kit to arrive! I am trying to be patient, but not doing too well! My plan is just to get going from whenever it gets here and to try not to put any pressure on myself to go backwards to the start of the year - not sure how well I will do with that either!
I did Project Life last year and started in April. Was going well until September, when I got behind due to busy-ness. I still don't have 2011 finished, but when 2012 came around, I just jumped right into 2012 and started with a fresh album. Sometimes all you need is a fresh start and not feel like you're behind. I totally support just doing the current week's pages if you have gotten behind, and THEN going back to the weeks you've missed. It will make you feel good just getting back into the process, and just getting the current week done will work wonders for your psyche and release the burden.
I'm two weeks behind but still very motivated. I'm enjoying the process even more than I thought I would. I'm even getting better at journaling and including more details every week. I agree with Christine about doing the current weeks and then going back. That's what I've been doing when I get behind and it's working for me.
