If you have a tablet, how long have you had it (and what kind do you have)? Mine is probably almost 5 years old ... and it's been driving me nuts for a while now (not responding, just acting weird) - I don't know if these things have a life span or what ... thoughts?

I think she meant a tablet vs. a mouse for an input device... but when I read the thread topic, that's what I thought she meant too.

I have a tablet that I used about five times... so mine will probably about 100 years. Want it?

I had mine for 2 years and it still worked amazingly... until a certain 2 year old drew with a crayon on it...
I got all the crayon off of it, but every where a line had been the screen no longer responded, so whenever I tried to use it those spots would end up staying blank.

I can't remember how long I've had my tablet... probably about two years? But it's still going strong and it's all I use. I much prefer it to the mouse. :)

    Karen, I'll take it! LOL

I have the Intuos3 Graphire and like I said, it's almost 5. Some days it works good, other days it drives me crazy and the only way I can get it to respond is to bang the pen on my desk a few times. Which can't be good for it. HAHAHA.

Karah, I just remembered about a year ago my pen quit working. replacement nibs didn't help. I replaced the pen and it has been perfect since. i was worried that my whole tablet was messed up, but it was just the pen. Much cheaper to replace the pen that the tablet. :)

You should just replace the pen.. I have a graphire 4 that is quite a few years old. (thinking 4 or more) and I've had to replace a pen when it started acting wonky. You should try that.

good idea - I'll try replacing the pen. They are just sooooooooo expensive! $60 for just the pen! Ouch. Better than $350 for a new tablet though ;) Thanks!!

    I knew that. :duh

I've had my bamboo for about 2 years now, had to replace the pen b/c I thought it was dead, but it turned out that I didn't reinstall the software when I formatted my computer- so I just never used it. I ended up ordering a new one on Amazon and THAT one wouldn't work either so I *finally* realized that the app wasn't on my computer. Installed it and it worked again, both pens. :giggle. So I had 2 of them but the first one's pen tip was so worn down that I just threw it out. :whistle

Oh, good thought on the pen! After I saw that I remembered I did actually replace my pen. It didn't wear out... my son accidentally broke it. They are expensive!

I have a Bamboo Fun (older version) that's about 3ish years old I think? It still works great. I did have to replace the pen once when my toddler threw it across the room. :dizzy

I have one of the Bamboo tablets (I don't know which one it is but probably the cheapest) and have been using it on & off since August. I try to force myself to use it but some days it is easier to revert back to what I know how to do easily with the mouse. So, it will be interesting to see how long it lasts. I honestly never even asked that question when I bought it!
