We’ve started tearing apart DD’s room so we can repaint it, so we’re looking at baseboards today.

What style and color of baseboards do you have where you live?
    Do you like them?
    What’s your preferred baseboard style?
Are your baseboards and walls the same color and sheen?

It’s been awhile (8 years) since we’ve done a big house project so wish us luck!

What style and color of baseboards do you have where you live?
Our are white with multiple edges/decorative lines (realizing now this is hard to explain lol).

    Do you like them?
    I like that they’re white. I don’t like that they’re bumpy.

    What’s your preferred baseboard style?
White, tall and flat with slightly rounded edges.

Are your baseboards and walls the same color and sheen?
No. Our baseboards are white but our walls are all different colors (yellow, blue, pink, tan, gray depending on the room).

What style and color of baseboards do you have where you live? House was built in 1956 and the baseboards are "clam shell" with quarter round molding. Originally all the molding was white ... I don't remember the color of the walls (photos were black and white), but given that the staircase going from my kitchen to the basement is green (yep, never been painted/basement unfinished) I'm guessing the kitchen was originally painted green with metal beige cabinets (that I painted blue).

Currently my walls are all painted various shades of off-white, while the trim is painted in color ... light green in my bedroom and the bathroom, dark green in my daughter's bedroom (baseboards, crown molding, door trim and "ceiling" shelf, light blue in the den, then dark blue in the hall—living/dining room—kitchen as those rooms bleed into each other. Kitchen is wallpapered (what was I thinking?), while the other rooms are Sherwin Williams "Spaghetti."

Do you like them? Yes, they fit with the style of the house.

What’s your preferred baseboard style? It depends on the style of the house. I love crown molding painted to match.

Are your baseboards and walls the same color and sheen? No ... I prefer enamel/shiny for the trim, eggshell/matte for the wall.

We have stained wood on the main floor and white in the basement. Both have decorative edges.

I’ve never lived where the trim was colored and the walls weren’t. Sounds fun!

I’m trying to decide if we use a different sheen for the baseboards or not so thanks for sharing your preferences.

Stained wood sounds nice. We’re going with Bakery Box white.

Our baseboards are white (they were painted that way before we bought our house). The previous owners chose a super simple style, I wish they were a bit more ornate (but not enough to replace them :giggle)

What style and color of baseboards do you have where you live? They're just kind of plain, curved at the top, hard to describe lol They are all white.

    Do you like them?
No particularly, but I don't hate them enough to change them lol

    What’s your preferred baseboard style?
I would perfer taller and more modern.

Are your baseboards and walls the same color and sheen?
The walls in most of the rooms are various shades of tan and beige. The walls are also more of an eggshell and the baseboards are more semi-gloss.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds it hard to describe lol

We’re going with taller and more modern. I’m excited (even though it’s not even my room).

What style and color of baseboards do you have where you live?
We have mid sculpted baseboard - bottom half is flat and the upper is ornate grooves
Do you like them? yes, they add a bit of decorative interest to a plain wall
What’s your preferred baseboard style? I like the ones we have and also like flat baseboards as they are minimalist and easy to clean.
Are your baseboards and walls the same color and sheen?
lustre finished baseboards in white with cream walls

I like the flat baseboards because they’re easier to clean too.

We have plain stained wood in the house and no - they don't match the walls. I never really thought about base boards. I have seen some fancy ones on decor shows, I think they require more dusting.

I didn’t think about base boards until we installed them in our last basement. I agree the fancy ones require more dusting which is why I dislike them.

We just tore my youngest son's room apart to deep clean it. I really wanted to paint to while we had it apart, but I didn't have the time to get it done before company is coming today. Good luck on your project. I always LOVE doing a fresh coat of paint!

Our baseboards and almost all the same and super plain. Just one tiny radius edge on the top and then the rest is just flat. I actually love the multiple stepped kind and think they look awesome... except for painting. :giggle

Ours are all a different color than the walls for contrast and a LOT of them are just plain white.

Tall normal white baseboards here. No curves or decor, so probably what you are describing as more modern. I do like them! The few windows/frames that are original have grooves/decor, but they still blend in with the rest of the house's straight edge in baseboards & trim.

I love me some plain white. I definitely wouldn’t want to paint the ornate ones.

That’s good they blend in. I wanted to leave the windows and doors but DH insists on replacing everything so it all matches. Too much work! Why did we sign up for this?!
