Happy Onion Rings Day!! I really love onion rings but I'm also super picky about them. The have to be perfectly crispy. Mushy onion rings are the worst, so I don't order them for take out very often at all. I have made them myself, but it's been a longgggg time. Do you like onion rings? There was a chain in Omaha, Nebraska back in the sixties called Kings Food Host that made the best onion rings. They disappeared before the turn of the century but I think they now have an offshoot called Don and Millie’s that carry a similar version. It’s been years since I was back there. I like the Outback’s blooming onion too although they are really not rings. Have you ever made your own? Yes, and they were a major fail. My dear Grandson made a frozen prepared, air fryer version this week and brought me a couple because he knew I liked onion rings!!! They were okay but what a sweetheart.
I've never made my own but often get them in restaurants. I like a mayo/hot sauce dip with them. I like crispy ones with not too much coating on them.

I almost included Outback's Bloomin Onion because I love it so much...even if it is not technically onion rings! So swee to your grandson!!
I don't eat them often, but I usually only like them in a restaurant so they are extra crispy. I always also eat them when they are way too hot, lol! I have made frozen version at home, but it's not the same. I have never tried making them myself... I don't fry foods at home, lol!
I love onion rings but I'm super picky. They have to have a good breading and be crispy. Paces in Utah had my favorite onion rings. I haven't tried any yet here in Georgia. Hopefully I can find a place that makes good ones.

When we do fish fry nights, we often also make onion rings since we have the hot oil already going. We do a beer batter and they are so delicious fresh out of the grease. (not especially healthy, but oh so tasty!)

Do you like onion rings? some, yes. I like them to be crispy and the ratio of onion to breading must be skewed towards the breading. I tend to get one or two on a burger and then eat them first before I eat the burger itself. Have a favorite place to get them from? I'm a sucker for the ones at Red Robin, but basically never get them. We ordered them in December when my bestie was visiting from France and I have no idea where they all disappeared to while she and my husband were geeking out about superhero movies Have you ever made your own? no.
