I've mostly recovered from our (really fun!) vacation to S. Korea and this weekend I get to RELAX! Yesterday was my daugther's birthday and we went shopping and out to dinner and then tonight DH and I are going to the new Wes Anderson movie. I hear you either love it or despise it so we'll see! What are you doing this weekend?
Well its 2 am here on the down under side of the world. Had an afternoon in the garden, a Roast Lamb dinner and then Watched an oldie but goldie movie Silence of the Lambs. Must of been at least 20yrs since I seen it. Love Wes Anderson movies , visual feasts. Always a unique perspective. Will have to go check out his latest. Must be holiday times, we just got back from a trip to Italy. Looking forward to scraping that travel book. But I have to finish the annual family books for my family first. Look forward to seeing your travel LO's on S. Korea. Always wanted to go there.
Enjoy relaxing Dawn! DH & I walked five miles this morning and I just got really tired so I’m laying in bed. Going shopping here shortly for sports gear for my daughter. Church tomorrow then visiting my dad for Father’s Day.
I am laying low this weekend. Resting, going to church tomorrow. My town is quite busy with graduations, USAA Track & Field Championships and other events. Avoiding people until I must encounter them!
I’m busy getting ready for my stepmom and sister to visit for three days. Having a family barbecue here tomorrow
Trying to be nicer?? Calmer? Having a rough few days here. But in fun! Took my girls to the local library for their "Messy Festival" so that was entertaining, lol. And tomorrow is Father's Day & we'll spend that with family with a cookout at my aunt's.
Oooh! I look forward to seeing your Italy book! I am up almost every night at 2 -- menopause is the gift that just keeps on giving. ;D
Wow, 5 miles is a loooong walk! I went shopping with my daughter yesterday and was tired after about 2.5 hours and it occurred to me that I really need to build up my tolerance for walking more. I think I lost some conditioning when I broke my leg last summer that I haven't fully regained. It's a billion degrees here now, though, so maybe the treadmill.
Fun! My aunt used to have a big family bbq every summer and, of course, I never appreciated them when I was younger. Now, I'd love to do that. Hope you have a great time with your family!
A messy festival and cookout sound like a good mix of weekend activities! I'm not sure calm is in my repertoire anymore but I join in trying to be nicer.
We went to a baseball game last night. Today I had to go to a suprise birthday party for my work wife Tomorrow is a baby shower. I'm looking forward to resting on Monday haha.
So sad to hear you had a great time in Sth Korea b/c the post-holiday blues can set in and i know we had a great time in Japan recently and all i can think about is wanting to go back already lol (Looking fwd to seeing your pages too and glad to read you seem to have a lot distracting you from those potential blues!) i got a new sewing machine a few months back and really have only just unboxed it and i'm finally tackling my pile of alterations so i took up a few pairs of pants so far this week and weekend. We're also doing some home improvement stuff - this week involved cleaning out DS's wardrobe and us (well mostly DH) installing shelves and mirror slider doors. There was also a lot of paint colour planning and indecision with painting the driveway - the first colour didn't look anything like the brochure or swatch so there were a few extra trips to the store
My daughter and I definitely have the post holiday blues. We talk several times a day about how we want to go back to S Korea. What a great country and great country to visit. I've never been to Japan (other than the airport) but it's on my bucket list! Congrats on getting the new sewing machine up and running - I love to sew but it is a production to get the machine set up and threaded every time!
lol i specifically bought a model with a threading assitant thing (so much easier because i can never see the eye of the needle to thread and this isn't 100% auto, but so much easier with the pull down guide thing! threading the bobbin was always my main gripe but i went from front loading bobbin to top loading and that was the other game changer - i thought it was my lack of skill but it was more a case of the equipment holding me back!)
Today we had my youngest son's end of seaons baseball game and party; I did a bit of shopping (which I very rarely do these days), and then we rounded out our day with a block party. For Father's day, I'm making a special breakfast for my husband and then we're going to a Mariner's game ... followed by going out for ramen for dinner (assuming we have the stamina). I'm traveling for work next week, leaving super early on Monday moring, so I will also be packing.
Yesterday & this morning I helped with an overnight church activity, we had 30 kids ages 14-18. We camped out near a lake and the weather was great. After I got home this morning I went to a baby shower and then a protest/march. So I'm wiped! Tomorrow we'll celebrate Father's Day and we are getting together with my family for dinner.
It's been a busy but relaxing wkend. Enjoyed a photo walk yesterday and it's been enjoyable getting out in the warm weather for walks with my aussie. I've been jewelry creating as I have two artisan markets next month. We'll let Darrell pick a movie to watch tonight (for Father's Day) after one of his fave meals (shepherds pie).
Busy! I could do all this but introverted me would have to shut myself in quiet room for a couple days! In fact, since we went for breakfast this morning, I'm going shopping with my DD this afternoon and then we're going for dinner out tonight, maybe I'll have to do that anyway.
