I received an email from my library saying it was time for me to renew my library card. So off we went to the library today. I usually just check out things online but since we were there I found some books and hubby found some dvds. Two of the books i picked up were actually books that were for sale, and I paid $2 each for them. One was a cookbook that I had been eyeing for awhile, and another was about training your cat, lol. We shall see how that goes. So my questions for you are:
    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally?
    2. Have you ever bought books from the library?
    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back?

When we lived in Indianapolis they had the best book sales. Usually on the last day it would be $2 for whatever you can fit in a grocery bag! The best!

We always try to be on time but sometimes we forget. Oh well!!

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Digital books. But, I found out that if you don't sign in for the Ohio E-book Project for a period of time, they delete your log in. I had signed in and took out a couple of magazines in November. I tried to log in sometime in March and couldn't so I called the library. While we were on the phone, I gave her my information and she set up my login again. I guess I should probably sign in soon to keep it activated!

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? They have a used books sale in August but I've never bought any books.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? In the old days when I would check out books (I'm talking during my school years... I graduated in 1974), I returned them on time.

I do visit my library though. It has a wonderful genealogy section so I have gone and done research there. Used to spend hours there in the 1990's before information was digitized and put online. There is still so much genealogical material that isn't digitized that can be found in libraries, archives and museums.

I have checked out audiobooks and ebooks before but most often these days, I find the book on my local library website (my library system consists of several branches, 3 of which are easily accessible to me, one just a few miles away) and I request a hold on it. Ever since I got reading glasses a couple of years ago, I've been choosing paper books, because for a few years it was getting challenging to read them. When I get the email saying the book is ready for me, I drive over and pick it up. Occasionally I still go in and browse the stacks though. That was something I've loved to do from a very young age. I love libraries, one of humanities greatest inventions, a place where everyone is welcome, and where I spent so much time, first as an elementary school child, and later with my homeschooled kids (drama productions and meetings for various activities with our homeschool groups).

I have little interest in owning books anymore. I can't remember whether I've bought any books from the library in the most recent decades. Possibly long ago. My local system has a great book sale system. I've donated many, many books, including the thousands of kids' books I had acquired in the Nineties and '00's as a teacher and mom.

I return my books on time more often than not, even since my library system stopped charging late fees a few years ago.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Well, I place my holds online, but I almost always do reserves for physical books. I will use Hoopla or Libby if that's the only way I can get a book that I want to read but not purchase. I go to the library on a regular basis usually to return a book or two, then go in and pick up a reserved book or two.

We have a wonderful library. It's considered one of the best in the state of Wisconsin. It's the kind of library that almost every day has a parking lot that is full or close to full from opening to closing time.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? Yes. When I was on the Friends of the Library Board, I helped with set-up and sales during our annual book sale. These days I don't always make it to the Friends sale because I'm involved in a much bigger book sale for a different organization.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? Almost always on time. If late, it's just by a day or two. Our library no longer does late fees unless you never return the book.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally?
Almost entirely digital, although I did take my granddaughter to story time there recently.
    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? Yes, they have a book sale twice a year. I usually end up buying a few each time, although it takes me forever to actually read them. I seem to read mostly e-books these days.
    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? With e-books, they are automatically returned on the due date.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Both! I actually LOVE the library, something about the community of it. Just this week I was in there twice, I got a few books for my son and the other time I went to use the button machine. I was making buttons for teachers for teacher appreciation week. Our library has a maker space with an engraving machine, embroidery machine, and button machine that are free to use.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? Yes, many years ago I was in when they had a book sale and picked up some great children's books.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? I'm about 50/50 :whistle

In person, I live between two different branches though one is more of a community hub with less books so tend to go to the more traditional library location. I occasionally will take out a ebook if it's something I'm not sure about but that's really only to see if I'd be interested in a hard copy version.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library?
Sometimes, its mostly magazines if I pick anything up

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back?
Ummm.........tardy, very very tardy in fact. Probably comes down to the fact the local council who run the libraries in our region removed daily fines so there isn't a financial penalty unless the books need to be replaced due to losing them or they have damage to them

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? A little bit of both. I use the library website (or the app, now that it's fixed) to put books on hold and pick them up in person. I frequently don't go past the holds section because I usually request entire series at a time and then my arms are too full. But we just went for May the 4th and I got to see some of the new things on the far side of the stacks. That room with the green screen seems really cool. We also meet my son's speech therapist at a different branch in a study room.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library?
I did when I was younger. These days, there's sometimes a "free to a good home" cart by the entrance and I'm always coming home with things for my son from it.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? Thanks to the magic of auto-renewals, my books just renew themselves a time or two and I'm not late anymore. It's only an issue with certain new releases; if someone else has them on hold, I can't renew them so they have to jump to the top of my TBR list when the due date gets close. (Example: I requested a new Stephen King book, along with 80 other people. It arrived when I was in the middle of a series so I had to speed read everything and got it back just in time...)

I’m almost 100% audiobook now - so digitally. I read a physical book the other day and it annoyed me that I had to put it down when I went to fold the laundry. I’m all about the multitasking.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library?
Yes a couple years ago I bought 3 books for 50 cents to a dollar each to use for junk/art journaling. I still have been unable to cut them up. Books feel pretty sacred to me. :)

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back?
Since I’m all digital, they return themselves but I almost always return them early anyway.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Most of the time I use the library digitally, but sometimes I have to request a paper book as that's the only option and I'm usually too cheap to actually buy a book. Lol!

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? I used to buy a ton of them at the used book sale when my kids were little. Sometimes I'd buy paperbacks for myself too, but I really prefer e-books these days.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? I'm almost always on time. I hate returning them late.

I LOVE the library! Am a book hoarder! So the library is nice because I don't have to find a place to store all the books!

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Mostly in person, but digitally as well.
    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? I have, our beautiful reference library has a great sale and I picked up a few a long while back. And recently picked up a CD.
    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? Always try to bring back on time. I'm sure we've been a little late on occasion.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally? Entirely for e-books nowadays. When the GKs were younger we'd frequently walk down the block to the library to borrow books.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? No

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? Always on time BITD because of the fines. I don't think they fine late returns anymore, you just get a "lost book" payment demand if too much time goes by. E-books are returned automatically, although I return them manually as I finish reading them, especially if they are on the hold list.

    1. Do you use your local library in person or digitally?
Definitely digitally. Ever since I discovered Libby on my iPad, I've been checking out books digitally. It's so easy to search for what you want, and so easy to put things on hold.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library?
    No.

    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back?
Since I use the library digitally, my books are automatically returned on the due date if I haven't returned them ahead of time.

I used to use the library a lot when I was younger, and visit several times a week when the children were small. I've had to phone in a book renewal request a couple of times as I've been unable to get there to hand it in on time. Our local library is closed, and it's a longer walk to the central town one, so I've stopped going.

    2. Have you ever bought books from the library? I've seen the sales but there are never any I am interested in.
    3. Do you return your books on time or are you tardy bringing them back? Not a problem since I read them digitally.
