MUST DOUBLE SPACE!!! Double-spacers unite!

 

I use exclamation marks way too much.

And I never really did the double space after a period except in certain reports/papers in school where it was required.

 

Are you guys still using typewriters?

 

I did for a long time, but I was finally able to give up the double space lol.

I'm not even sure what I do to be honest, I think whatever I have done/do has come from years of being in academia.

Turns out, after doing a bit of reading, I use single spacing....deep down I was pretty sure that was the case.

 

I am getting used to single space between sentences. I also don't use commas as much anymore.

 

I never double space after the period. I use exclamations all the time!!! And I hardly use commas. I love the em dash for my poetry.

 

I gave up double spacing after periods years ago, and now I can't fathom ever doing that!

 

Years ago, with a typewriter, I would always double space. When digital became prominent, I read that it was perfectly acceptable to single space. I have been single spacing since.

 

Will always and forever double space. I have to sometimes go through and change some of my exclamation points to periods so I am not looking too UTTERLY enthusiastic! (And lots of times I hide afterthoughts between parentheses).

 

Team (Over)using Parenthesis forever! Also probably too many exclamation points!

 

Considering my degree was in teaching business education which was typing on a typewriter when I got the degree (I learned on a manual typewriter, does that tell you how old I am?), I've been a double spacer all my life. I still do especially if I am typing a long document with many paragraphs. But I will single space in forums like this.

I've been known to use lots of exclamation points and ellipsis as well.

yeah... I think the age thing is the double space but I have broken the habit at least. Thankfully I don't have to write many papers or essays, since that's when I really like to double space. I also REALLY like the ellipses...

 

Email and text messages.. no double space for me!

 

Not only have I dropped the double spacing (which I learned to do in typing class in 1984) long ago, sometimes I even leave out capitalization or punctuation in text messages.

 

I've been typing since 1976, I still double space sometimes, but I know it isn't needed and generally correct it. I will join team EXCLAMATION POINT!!!!! Way overuse them, and I'm not sorry!!!!

 

I used to double space all the time because of a job that I had for YEARS. I really don't do it anymore though.
