Besides the standard gallery requirements, there aren't any crazy rules to follow beyond simply scrapping with our featured designer for the day!! Today I am so excited to feature NicNJoy!! NicNJoy's store is filled with an incredible variety of beautiful papers and thoughtfully crafted elements. Whether you prefer minimalist layouts, pocket style pages or love to layer your pages with rich details, you'll find the perfect products to bring your vision to life! About NicNJoy: NIC&JOY or (NicNJoy) NicNJoy was born out of a shared vision between us—Nicole (NBK Design) and Joyce (Joyce Paul Designs). When a lot of clean and simple designers left The Lily Pad, we felt strongly about keeping a space in the shop dedicated to that style. We both love creating designs that make documenting everyday life easy and timeless. The name NicNJoy comes from a simple blend of our names Nicole + Joyce. Our focus is on clean, practical, and flexible designs that work beautifully for pocket scrapbookers, hybrid scrappers, and those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic. While our products fit perfectly within pocket-style scrapbooking, they’re not limited to that—they are designed to be adaptable, story-driven, and easy to use in a variety of ways. A new layout I created using : Simple Stories | Smitten Papers, Pocket Cards, Label Box, Just Saying, Elements & Simple Stories || January '25 || Templates "Weeks of Memories" by Nic N Joy About Joyce: (you can find her LOD thread here.) I've been designing digital scrapbooking products since 2006—so it’s been nearly two decades now! I discovered digital scrapbooking purely by chance when I stumbled upon digital kits online. I was already creative and loved paper crafting, so the idea of being able to create and design my own elements digitally fascinated me. I dove right in, and before I knew it, I was designing professionally. As for how much time I devote to designing—as much as I can! Being a single mom of three, I juggle my time between family and work, but designing is truly my passion. I spend a significant portion of my days (when the kids are in school) creating, though my design time is still limited by the demands of everyday life. I’m definitely an introvert—I love my quiet time and find energy in being alone or with a close-knit group of people. Inspiration comes from everywhere—color palettes, vintage textures, nature, emotions, music, and everyday life. I love diving into themes that tell a story in a unique way. My favorite snack? Hmm… probably chocolate or something salty like chips. Night owl or early bird? Early bird! With three kids to get ready for school, early mornings are a necessity. Life as a single mom is busy, so by the time evening rolls around, I’m usually pretty tired. Nicole:I was in a relationship and wanted to create a card for him. While searching on Google, I somehow stumbled upon 12x12-inch digital papers in 300 dpi. That moment opened the door to a universe I never knew existed. I can still remember the feeling—it was as if I had found a world where I truly belonged. From there, my journey into digital scrapbooking began, and in 2006, I started my first freebie blog. Olga: What do you enjoy the designing the most? Elements, artsy bits, papers or wordarts? Is there something you don’t enjoy designing? Nicole:Each collection starts differently for me—I don’t have a fixed process. The biggest challenge is often choosing colors and finding the right theme. If I struggle to get into the flow, I begin with templates. From there, I move on to papers since I later use them as a base for the artsy bits. That’s usually when everything starts coming together. Most of the time, I see colors first, and that sparks a vision—the overall vibe and direction. Should it be playful, artistic grungy, or romantic? I always love introducing new elements and fresh ideas to keep things exciting. Creating artsy bits is always the most time-consuming part. I usually go over each piece 5–10 times—starting with a pattern, then adding brushes, textures, shadows, and more. I always strive to give every single one an artistic and unique look. One part I find the most unlikely is actually adding the products to the shop. I also don’t like waiting to release them—I prefer to finish a collection and have it available right away. Every collection is an opportunity to explore something new, push creative boundaries, and bring a unique experience to the scrapbookers who use it. Andrea: What item, that you have created, are you most proud of? Or do you personally like the most? Nicole:I don’t think I have one specific item or product that defines my work. I rarely look back—I’m always thinking about what’s next. Creativity, for me, is about moving forward, exploring new ideas, and figuring out how to bring them to life. Each new concept sparks excitement and curiosity. How can I shape it? What elements can I introduce to make it fresh and inspiring? That process of constant discovery is what keeps me going. This is my first encounter with NicNJoy. Took advantage of the sale and bought me the stickers collections. I really think these stickers will be a great addition to any layout to give it that little extra! Here I've combined them with Nicole's and Joyce's collaboration Rise & Shine:
Happy LOD! I only have some cards so far from Nic N Joy, so I used those for this page. So many great cards to choose from!
