When’s the last time you went on a road trip?
We road tripped to my son's hockey tourney a few weekends ago to Sun Valley, Idaho- it's about an 8 hour drive from home! We have another long one coming up in May going to Calgary.

What’s your go-to road trip snack?
I like to bring fruit, kids like granola bars, fruit snack type of stuff

If you’re the driver, what do you listen to?
By myself, audiobooks, but usually don't road trip by myself often. If family is in the car, usually just a pop or country playlist

If you’re the passenger, what do you do during the drive?
Listen to my book and sometimes sleep!

Do you make specific stops or only stop if it’s an emergency?
We stop to charge every 250 miles or so- but usually someone had to use the restroom or eat by then anyways.

Hope your road trip went well!

When’s the last time you went on a road trip?
December. We drove to just north of Orlando to go to the Audubon Birds of Prey center and then stopped at Pizzeria Uno's on the drive home. I think the trip was really just an excuse to take my mom to Uno's. (It was 3ish hours there, almost an hour from the Birds of Prey center to Uno's because traffic never moves on I-4, and 3ish hours home in one day.)

What’s your go-to road trip snack? Bubble tea. I don't like to snack in the car and prefer to plan our stops to eat somewhere exciting. We used to road trip to Orlando more often when my brother was at UCF and I'd always grab bubble tea from Chewy Boba Company for a drink on the way home

If you’re the driver, what do you listen to? I am never the driver. Back before we were parents, my husband and I would listen to the same audio book every trip so we could both zone out and focus in as needed. And pre-marriage, it was showtunes in the car with my mom.

If you’re the passenger, what do you do during the drive? Take photos out the window, check Google Maps a million times, drink non-stop and then suggest a bathroom break

Do you make specific stops or only stop if it’s an emergency?
We try to plan stops to stretch our legs, eat, use the bathroom, or take photos. My husband has learned to plan stops in advance after the time we got off the highway randomly to get Zaxby's for lunch because he was too hungry to wait another hour to get to our destination. My 7 month pregnant self dragged him to a nearby state park to go caving. (No, they did not let me into the main caves but I did get to go into a few and explore the visitor's center.)

How long does it take you to charge?

The longest we’ve driven for sports (so far) is 4 hours. I don’t look forward to 8!

Yes it was a good trip; thank you.

Your “planned stops” story made me chuckle lol

DH and I try to drink as little as possible on the drive which is super unhealthy but that’s how bad we don’t want to stop.

When’s the last time you went on a road trip?
Last fall when we drove from Ontario back to B.C. It takes about four days.

What’s your go-to road trip snack? We usually pack fruit, nuts & dried fruit, water and coffee.
If you’re the driver, what do you listen to? I'm hardly every the driver but I downloaded some audio books and we listened to Apple Music.
If you’re the passenger, what do you do during the drive? Up front, I can read if the road is pretty straight. Sometimes, I knit or play games on the iPad.
Do you make specific stops or only stop if it’s an emergency. We'll stop if there's something interesting on the way. We took a side trip to take photos of old grain elevators last time.

We road trip to my brother's house in Bremerton, WA about 4 times a year, mostly in spring / summer / fall.

My husband drives 90% of the time and he listens to 80's music. It's mostly fine as I'm also an 80's fan, but I'm more of a classic rock fan than a new wave fan.

We don't eat in my car. It's still pretty new and I'm picky about it. So we stop at a Starbucks that's about halfway and charge the car while having cocoa and egg white bites.

Four days is a looooong road trip! I haven’t done one of those since I was in high school and we drove to Illinois from Utah.

Good for you packing all the healthy snacks. My daughter packed her own apples this trip; that girl could live on fruit.

Mmm cocoa and egg white bites - good choices. ;)

I don’t really like DH’s rap music so I was happy he wanted to listen to his audiobook this time. I have finally converted him to audiobooks! He listens at 1x speed though which is way too slow for me lol

Easily 3-4 years ago. WE hit 7 states in like 5 days. It was with the kids and the dog. I did all the driving and hip hop and r&b was cranking. More so I didn’t hear the kids. (Just saying). When I’m the passenger, I snooze or read. And stops going tend to be specific. On the way back, I’m usually tired and stop more frequently to keep myself awake.

Amen to cranking the music to drown out the kids. Our kids are pretty quiet in the car now that they have their own phones and headphones.

Charging depends on a few things- 1) the charger- super chargers are fast- up to 1000 miles/hour vs level 2 chargers which vary greatly. 2) how full the battery is at arrival & how full we need to get. The lower the battery, in general, the faster it charges. All that said, our longest charge stop ever was about 40 mins maybe? We had lunch though, so it wasn't a huge deal.

When’s the last time you went on a road trip? First of all, I define a road trip as something at least 4 hours long and involving multiple states. That said, the last road trip was last May when DH & I went from Wisconsin to IL, MO, KS, back to MO, IA, and then back to WI.

What’s your go-to road trip snack? Something salty like Veggie Straw, something sweet like peanut M & M's, and Sugar Free Snapple Half Tea/Half Lemonade

If you’re the driver, what do you listen to? All my music (and I've got a lot) is on a USB drive plugged into the console of my car. For normal driving, it's set to randomize. For road trips, I usually set it to play alphabetically by artist.

If you’re the passenger, what do you do during the drive? Frequently I road trip all by my lonesome. I've got one planned for this summer to go back to PA. Schoolmates who planned our 50th reunion 2 years ago are planning a giant 70th birthday party for our class because we're all turning 70 this year. So I'll go to that and also plan to visit family down near Pittsburgh before heading back home.

In any case, even when my husband is along, I do 95% of the driving. He doesn't really like to do distance driving and I love to drive. I've driven WI to FL, WI to AL, WI to TX, WI to AZ all on my own. On the rare occasions I need a break and make my husband drive, I try to nap.

Do you make specific stops or only stop if it’s an emergency? Especially if I'm going solo I try to stop every 60-90 minutes whether it's for a potty break, to stretch my legs, to look at some scenery, to get a snack or have a meal, or to refuel the car.
