It's winter where I am and it has been cold and snowy for 4 months now. As much as I love the winter landscape, I am soooo ready for spring. Any plans? Any changes to your routine? Looking forward to anything?
I'm starting to think about bird/wildlife photography outings. My fave spot close to home is Frank Lake (Alberta) but that won't open until end of May but before that I will start to take weekly walks thru some of Calgary's amazing parks to photograph the returning birds and also will drive to various locations i.e. Banff, Kananaskis, further north to Edmonton and further south to Medicine Hat, venturing into Saskatchewan and Manitoba. After a long winter, I can't wait to get out exploring again. Tomorrow will be our last winter outing, we are heading to Abraham Lake to photograph the famous ice bubbles in the lake. Should be very cool to see! It's a long day but it'll be fun, we will all go and bring the dogs too. I also am looking forward to frequenting the local markets as they open up. There are a couple of Calgary neighborhoods that are fun to browse and grab a coffee, I'm just waiting for warmer temps before enjoying that. Mostly, I just want to get outdoors.
Ooh ice bubbles sound so cool! Our nearby lake gets ice stacks that I've always wanted to see in person but never really want to trek out there in the cold lol Spring is softball and volleyball season in our house so I'm looking forward to watching my girls play volleyball together for the first time ever. I'm also looking forward to the warmer softball games but the first ones are going to be freezing unfortunately.
All I want is to get warmer weather and be able to go out without putting your entire wardrobe on. But it's probably 3 more months before that happens. So much snow here!
I can’t wait for spring and some drier and warmer weather here in the UK. Really boring but be nice to have dry days just to dry my laundry outside lol.
I'm really looking forward to spring. I can't wait to get out walking more in the local parks. Our favorite walk is along the lake and it has been very cold and windy lately so not fun at all. In the spring it is beautiful there and carpeted with wild flowers. I also love being able to go and have a coffee outside and take my granddaughter to the different playgrounds.
I honestly just want to be outside. I can't wait to work in my flower beds, plant things, even mow the grass. It's been a long cold snowy winter, and I've been trapped inside too long. I really just want to plan things and be able to go places without worrying about the weather. Come on, Spring!!
It sounds like we all feel the same. Thank goodness the temps start to warm up a bit by the end of the week.
I am not ready to send the warmth your way to be honest. We have had such a mild summer I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Winter was quite cold and harsh for us. Can we share the nice weather maybe? The only plans we have is a cruise from Cape Town to South Hampton in April and then we will spend a few days with family in the UK. I am looking forward to that.
To be honest I'm counting down the days til the seasons change. I don't handle heat & humidity well at all so the past 6-8 weeks have been torture. Today was a nice reprieve from the heat & humidity but we got rain in exchange for nicer temperatures. No real plans for the coming months yet....who knows whether that will change.
I am so ready for these cold temps to get warmer, and sun to come out brighter. I'm not made for winter, lol! No real plans besides getting out!
Those ice bubbles sound so cool! I hope I see your pictures on FB! I'm probably totally in the minority, but I love winter... not because of the weather so much as that we don't have so much going on and I often have my weekends mostly free to play with art stuff at home. I just seem to have a harder time finding free time once the weather gets nice outside. Plus, then I feel guilty hiding in my basement craft room instead of going out and doing stuff. Lol.
I’m ready for warmer weather. It’s been dreary, rainy, cold and even snowy here in Georgia, not what I expected it to be. I thought I left the snow and cold in Utah.
Normally I'm grumbling all winter about the cold and begrudgingly admiring the snow. This has been such a hard academic year for me, however, that I've been loving the abundance of snow because it gives me a break from work. I'm waiting for a new contract for a different position next year, so that will be what I'll be celebrating this spring, along with the warmer, longer days and prettier landscape. My husband and oldest kid are also very actively job hunting right now too, so very anxious about that as well. Hoping things are better this spring!
I dislike winter so much!! Spring is usually bad for me health wise but I love the warmer weather. I have asthma and with the change of season and allergies I get bronchitis it use to be pneumonia but I get the shot for that now. Things I'm looking forward to...going for walks again, porch sitting, and playing outside with Kasey. I have a cross stitch retreat coming up in April over my birthday and I am so excited to see some friends that I have not seen in a year and a half. (I've met them all at retreats. I have one that we try and stitch together over facetime several times a month.) Our wedding anniversary is May 10th and there is a bucket list concert on that day that I would give anything to go to. So hopefully my husband makes it work! (George Strait, Chris Stapleton, and Parker McCollum).
I LOVE spring time. I love all the newness of life. I do need to move some of my plants around, they aren't in the optimal location to do well. Only immediate spring plans is a european trip during my daughter's spring break.
I'm going to two crops in March ... one in Alabama, one here in VA that a friend and I host. Then in May I'm flying to Cali for my bonus granddaughter's wedding, followed by three days in Disneyland since I'll be less than 2 hours away.
I love to cruise. We aren't going on a cruise this year and I already miss it. Our Canadian dollar is in the dumps so I will stay in Canada this year. Our winter has been cold and harsh too. This week warms up considerably, finally.
