I read mostly memoir, history, and historical fiction.
My favorites in 2024 were James by Percival Everett, The Women by Kristin Hannah, A Fever in the Heartland by Timothy Egan, and The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande

Project Hair Mary was such a good book. The audible version was really well done.

I've been trying to get that one from the library for a LONG time but they only have it in spanish. I might have to break down and get it on audible.

I read less in 2024 than previous years but did enjoy quite a few of what I did read. Here's a couple of faves:

    • The Guest by B.A. Paris
    • The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass
    • Fragile Designs by Colleen Coble
    • None Of This Is True by Lisa Jewell
    • The Girl With No Name by Diney Costeloe

Loved this book so much! When I re-read it this summer with a couple of friends from church, they said it was having a big resurgence and was hard to find at the libraries again. I'm not sure why though? Lol. One of the girls said she'd heard they were making it into a movie, so maybe that's why?

I did hear about a movie being made with Ryan Gosling but maybe not until 2026

I read (or primarily listen) A LOT and I'm pretty stingy with 5-stars. They have to stay with me for awhile, as I'm always onto the next loan from the library!

    I had 18 5 stars reads out of 183 in 2024!

    • Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty
    • Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller

    • Drowning by T.J. Newman
    • The Book Spy by Alan Hlad
    • Maybe Next Time by Cesca Major
    • The Phoenix Crown by Kate Quinn, Janie Chang

lots of good ones here. Some I’ve read and loved and others are on my never ending to-read list. Lol. I’m most interested in the Fredrick backman one you listed. I’ve read many of his and loved almost all of them! Off to check that one out.

It's a short story & I listened on audible. One of those short stories that you wish was longer :)

I managed to read 17 books in 2024, was a pretty rubbish year and just couldn't concentrate to read much. But out of the books I did read my favourite were

    Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
    The Accomplice by Steve Cavanagh
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Hopefully get more books read in 2025

I'm a voracious reader and a quick reader. I logged over 250 books for 2024. Here's my listing of favorites read last year:
