I was thinking about scrapping time the other day & wondered.... Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? Do you have a set day/time you scrap? Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? How long does it take you to complete a page?
I tend to scrap in the mornings. Pages can take between 1/2 hour and 2 hours depending on how simple it is and whether I have a plan before I start or am working it out as I go along.
I start looking at the forum and my email etc as soon as I get up in the morning with a cup of coffee. After that, I start to scrap, stop to go do my exercise and then come back to finish my page. I am on my computer usually until 11 am unless something special is going on, so I scrap and answer emails and comment on gallery pages and scrap until that time Sometimes an hour sometimes 2 hours it takes for me to make a page if I am really blending etc. I am particular so I will look at it and be like... hmmm let me change that LOL
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? I'm way more consistent now that I'm a Polly but even then I still go through patches where I don't scrap as much Do you have a set day/time you scrap? No particular day but generally afternoons or early evenings Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? I generally don't scrap as much with new product during October to December as the colours & themes don't really align with me. Other than that I generally do minimal scrapping in Summer especially if it's hot but that usually lines up with MOC so I do scrap still. This year has been an anomaly as it hasn't been as hot so I'm more comfortable in general & it makes it easier for me to be at my computer How long does it take you to complete a page? I actually timed this the other day as I'd been getting a sore back & wondering when my tolerance for being at my computer was over - I learnt it was 2 hours. I'd say if it's a super simple page 30-45 mins, a CT layout with a 1-2 products about an hour and if I'm playing with lots of product or for a challenge about an hour & a half. The key for me is having some sort of plan or guide, if not then I could be scrapping for hours & go nowhere!
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? January MOC has been my peak since 2016. But I could also draw you a peak & valley chart over the years too. For example, I'd pick 2010 and 2016 as peak years and 2014 and 2024 and valley years. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? I can easily scrap any time of day, and have, even at 1 a.m., but the most frequent time would be Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Since 2015, when I was trying to get back into scrapping after having nearly completely dropped the hobby in favor of studying photography, I have made it kind of a goal to always scrap at least one page every weekend. I don't, but there's always another weekend coming up in 7 days to try again. Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? In recent years, I've scrapped more in the winter (MOC) and summer (I work in a school and have 2 months off). But before I got this job in 2021, only MOC made a difference. How long does it take you to complete a page? usually around an hour
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? I have definitely been on and off over the years. When I'm on I scrap like crazy. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? When ever I can fit it in. Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? Usually all through the year. There are times when we have something going on I don't have the time to scrap. How long does it take you to complete a page? I'm not sure, but probably around an hour on most pages.
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? Pretty consistent when I was on CTs ...but with work schedule I'm more peaks & valleys now. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? No Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? All year long How long does it take you to complete a page? I can complete a page within 15-20 mins. Most pages for me are 30 mins ...at most an hour, but that is very rare for me.
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? I am pretty consistent, but I do get distracted some days. Those days I get less pages done. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? Generally in the afternoon, but really any chance I can, I try. Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? I tend to scrap all year round. Because trying to catch up. I feel very behind. Working on December 2023 currently and am a chronological scrapper. How long does it take you to complete a page? I'm pretty quick, depending on type of page, I'd say anywhere from 15-60 min a page.
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? Most of the time, I'm pretty consistent. More peaks and valleys here lately. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? Not really. During the week, it has to be in the evening and on the weekend, I prefer to scrap in the morning. Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? I have more time in the summer, but I honestly probably scrap more in the winter because I'm inside more. How long does it take you to complete a page? Somewhere around 30 min I'd say, give or take. I don't sit for much longer than that at a time, so I get antsy if it takes too long.
I definitely go through the hills and valleys! I haven't been scrapping much the past few years. I'm back into it now and am so excited about this mojo! My problem is I get obsessed and don't want to do anything else. Now that I work home again, I have found that I have to give myself a hard limit. I cannot touch Photoshop or open a scrapbook forum or shop website until I've met my daily work goal! Otherwise I'm up at 11 pm trying to finish my work up, ugh! I'm also a slow scrapper. I like to really take my time, create, and enjoy the process. To me if I'm going to just whip pages out super fast, it just defeats the purpose of scrapping.
I don’t think I created one LO in 2024 my heart wasn’t in it. This year I’ve decided to get back to it. I’ve started having a go at using photoshop on my iPad, still getting the hang of it. And I will need to open LOs on the computer to resize for web before I can share. But using the iPad so far means I can create LOs while sat downstairs with the hubby while he plays Xbox, or watches TV. Found it quicker using iPad as well.
I use Affinity on my iPad and found an app to resize on my iPad. It is called Image Size. I tried a couple of them out and really like this one. In the filters there is a sharpen filter so I add this before resizing. My pages come out much better for posting in the gallery.
There were several years that I didn’t scrap much at all. I made a couple of photo books on Shutterfly and that was it. Then my granddaughter was born and my scrapping mojo came back. I scrap whenever I feel like it…usually while my husband is watching something on tv that I’m not interested in but we are in the same room together. The amount of time it takes me to do a page varies.
Are you a consistent scrapper or do you go through peaks & valleys when it comes to scrapping? I am quite consistent, unless we are traveling. Do you have a set day/time you scrap? Not really, but hubby and I share the office space so I need to be out of here when he is meeting with clients. Do you scrap more or less during a particular season or do you scrap all through the year? I think I do less in Winter, Definity take fewer photos and that impacts my mojo. How long does it take you to complete a page? 30 ish minutes, most of the time. Some times 40mins if it isn't coming together as I would have liked.
