I am about to start my CPR online reading/quizes for my recertifation class next week. Any one else CPR certified? Those that are certified do you sing a song while doing compressions? We were taught to do Staying Alive by the Bee Gees years ago! Now I have discovered you can do other tunes too! Here is a link https://www.firstresponse-ed.com/blog/the-great-cpr-song-list/ Britney Spears and BSB...who knew??
My certification runs out later this year. My chest injury means I won't requalify - I'm not strong enough. I was only just strong enough at my exam. We were not taught to sing, just count.
I had to be certified when we adopted our daughter but that was decades ago now. I should probably do it again to get back up to speed. You never know.
I refreshed my CPR knowledge a few weeks ago and realized I can’t count and sing at the same time. How do you know you have made 30 compressions?
I did the course a couple (ok.. more like 6 or 7) years ago when it was offered at my workplace, but they stopped offering it so my certification lapsed. The other song they suggested was less auspicious..but it is my favorite one being a Queen fan! “Another one bites the dust”..
I have a certification from the local firehouse. Did it twice because after a few years I thought it was important to brush up my skills. Here in Japan it's pretty boring and we just count lol But I will definitely try with the Bee Gees next time lol Good luck!
I have been First Aid (&CPR) certified in the past - it lasts two years here but it's now almost impossible for me to do the practical component as I can't manage to easily go to & from the ground....going down isn't too bad but kneeling then getting up is virtually impossible for me.
I have to be recertified every 2 years for work. They taught us Stayin Alive as well. I sing the count to the song lol. I love the list!
I did it for workplace first aid certification several years ago, but since I now WFH full-time it's not been renewed. The Staying Alive was featured in a British Heart Foundation campaign, humorously featuring Vinnie Jones here in the UK several years ago. https://www.bing.com/search?pglt=42...EDSAQg2OTA1ajBqMagCALACAA&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=HCTS
I was CPR certified as a teenager because I was a lifeguard. Now we want to certify as a family with our kids. I never learned a song; just counted one and two and three and …
Everyone in my family is CPR certified - we've had to over the years to be leaders in our kiddo's troops, schools, etc. Then my kids were both certified in those troops (Boy Scouts & American Heritage Girls). Today starts a course where my son is actually attending a Wilderness First Responder course before spring session starts at his school so he'll be also certified in rescuing you if you become lost in the Wilderness. hahahahaha
My certification runs out in a couple of months......maybe the end of this month, lol. I just count, no singing.
I was required to be certified when I was a Girl Scout leader for my granddaughter, but it's been at least a decade since my certification ran out. I still have my little "Save a Life" card in my wallet ... CPR/Choking/Bleeding. No songs when I was certified.
Yes, I am CPR Certified and was taught the Staying Alive song last year when I re certified. I think it's fun!
I'm CPR certified and have been since 1977. I've heard a number of songs but most often Stayin Alive.
I was a lifeguard for many years and certified and I was certified when I was student teaching and subbing but sadly it has expired and I am not sure I have arm strength to renew
