Who will join me?

I finally made some time to skim through the subforums for the first three years of MOC. I thought I wanted to do 2015 because it's the year before I started doing MOC, and I like Anne-Marie's point about it being 10 years ago, but while there is a 2015 MOC forum, it's only showing a bunch of discussion threads, not MOC prompts. So that leaves 2013 and 2014 and the prompts for 2014 interest me more.

I'd be happy to start a thread in this forum each day in January with the 2014 prompt for that date and a link back to the original prompt thread, and then we can each add our layouts. If anyone else wants to create threads for other years or just create a "Username's MOC 2025 thread" and do an independent project, that would work too.

Also, Marilyn, thanks for sharing. I will try to remember to check out Lyn and Rachel's challenges, but I'm not sure I want to switch over to them because I do better with daily habits than intermittent tasks. Also, I'm terrible at reading my email promptly. Will/can those challenge pages be shared in forum threads here?

I'm excited that so many will do independent MOC along with me in 2025!

 

Thanks Courtney! The 2015 prompts forum seems to be invisible in the main MOC forum. I put the link in my bookmarks bar and now I'm thinking of doing 2015 instead. I'll decide for sure after I take some time to read some of the 2015 prompts.

Everyone should choose whichever year they want (or multiple years or no years). If someone makes a thread called, for example, 2015 January 2, then others who did that same challenge can share their layout in the same thread. If you don't see a thread for your year and date already, you make the thread. Or, if you're doing multiple years or your own thing, you can make a thread just for yourself, if you'd like, ie. 'michelepixels MOC2025 layouts.' Make sense? I'm proposing a Do-It-Yourself MOC for 2025, but we're still coming together to share what we're scrapping and celebrate our scrapping.

And I'm committing now -- you're reading it here, so I must follow through! -- to try to comment on every layout posted for MOC 2025, in a thread in this MOC forum. I say 'try' because if 300 people participate prolifically, I probably can't. But I anticipate a much smaller daily amount of posting. I can certainly compliment 10 layouts a day, at least!

 

Right! I'll do it around 7 a.m. Eastern Time, U.S., even though I probably won't have my page made until later in the evening (I work Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:00).

 

Awesome! I'm still making up my mind which year I want to do. Maybe I'll look at both 2014 and 2015 each day and pick the one I like better.
