What programs do you all use to organize or do you just go the folders way. I have used
LR3 which does not see .pngs and used ACdsee (forgot how to spell it) when I had a Dell. Now an Apple convert.
I am mostly a kit scrapper, but would love to add random things from other kit too.
Kind of miss ACdsee, but it always crashed. If I decide to get subscription PS/LR, I heard
it can see .pngs. Is that true in the Mac version? Going to watch Cheryl's tutorial on LR.
    Again all help appreciated.

I have been an ACDSee user though not really using it at the moment after losing all of my tagging multiple times and just losing interest in organising.

As a kit scrapper, I don't tag everything. However, I do put a copy of the kit previews in a separate folder called "Previews" and tag just the preview. I use Adobe Bridge to tag, view and search those previews. (I also do not use PS or PSE to scrap, I use a different program).

I also use the labeling feature available in Bridge to mark those previews as "kit used" or "template used". Then when I do a search, I can hide the used kits and see what kits I haven't used to see if something works for what I'm doing.

The program I use to actually view what is in each kit is no longer available (Picasa).

I use a program called Eagle.cool. I've used ACDSee in the past and had issues. I've used Lightroom, but I didn't like having my photos and supplies together, so I had two libraries, and switching between them was cumbersome. For both programs, I struggled with how it found things that weren't tagged.

About a yearish ago I stumbled onto Eagle. I really love a lot of things about it. It's super easy to tag, I can add the URL of the kit, I can search by color, and I can find things without tags. Plus, it's a one time payment, and it doesn't seem to take too many resources to run. I can have multiple libraries, but they are quicker to switch between than Lightroom's multiple libraries.

Liz (@easyeyes4you) has started using it too, and I have some videos I've made to show her how I use it and answer her questions. I need to make a video of why I love it for digi scrapping. :giggle Let me know if you have questions, and I'll try to answer them.

Also, I'm totally unaffiliated with them, I just really like how easy it is to use, and I love the color searching features!
Oh, PS: It can see .psd files and .png, etc files.

Great information. Thank you. I have used multiple way also over the years, Picassa and ACDSee with Windows computers and Bridge & LR3 with Mac. I just want to scrap. Tired of computers dying, Apple upgrades and making old Adobe programs not work anymore. Why don't the tech people stay out of our business. :box

Think I might just bite the bullet and do the PS/LR monthly and organize in LR or Bridge. I like bridge because it works seamlessly with PS. Thank you for the advice.

Are you a Windows girl. ADCsee and Mac did not work in the old days.

Thank you. I will look. Not sure I want another program to learn in the mix. To old to learn new things.

I use ACDSee and haven't had many problems with it but I do embed the metadata every time the program closes. The thing I dislike is how much time I spend tagging everything.

Thank you for the tip! I'm in search of an organizing programm for some time now and this might be it. I just installed the trial version and am already a fan of the way it shows all the pngs. And this is the first program that is actually made for what I want to do with it, organizing design assets. All the other programs were made for photos and had various difficulties with the pngs. I will go and check your videos now, thanks a lot for sharing them!

That's how I felt too! It's intended for digital stuff, and it works great for that!

Thanks for this suggestion, I just downloaded it based on a couple of your videos which made me think it'd be a good fit for me. It's awesome that there's a 30 day trial, I'll be able to really see if I like it anough to buy it.

I have never tagged. It's too tidious for me. I use Bridge to see my stash but when I need something specific and if the designers (including me lol) do well their job they have names their elements properly and you can use the search option in Windows... of course there must be a search option in MAc too I guess.
If you get a subcription to PS maybe it will be available too? Not sure. I have the full set.

Now, if you do want something theme specific I guess only tagging would work. I usually just work with one kit at a time unless so I am probably not of any help ;)
