LOVE Our Designers - February 10 Allison Pennington Is Our Daily Crush! Besides the standard gallery requirements, there aren't any specific rules to follow beyond simply scrapping with our featured designer for the day and having some fun!! Today we are crushing on Allison Pennington! Allison Pennington Facebook fan page: https://www.facebook.com/allisonpennington.designs IG: https://www.instagram.com/the_allisonpennington/ TLP username: AllisonPennington I have loved Allison’s designs for well over a decade. I love that I can use her kits from this year and from a decade ago and they are all still just as awesome! I also recently was trying to organize my alphas and realized that Allison almost ALWAYS includes an alpha with her kits, and I absolutely love that! I love not having to go hunt for a matching alpha, because she’s already done the work for me! Yahoo! Fast Five Allison Pennington Interview: 1: How long have you been designing and when did you find your way to The Lilypad? Forever? It feels like forever. Since the early 00s I’ve been doing some variation of this or that. I moved to The Lilypad in 2011? I think? (That’s crazy!) 2: When did you discover digital scrapbooking and how long after that were you inspired to start designing? I had a custom printables business for a while, before I’d heard of digital scrapbooking. After a few years, it had to take a backseat when big life things happened (Transitioned to a full time job I had to go to in person, got divorced, etc). I started dipping my toes in digi for fun and, well… I opened my first store in 2008 3: What is your favorite way to unwind and/or pamper yourself? Exercise and naps, for different reasons. I'm not a very good unwinder. I don't have a lot of time for pampering so I do little things here and there - shower steamers in my favorite scents, face masks while I'm working... they have to be things I can do while I'm doing something else. (Also I play games - I like shooting at monsters, etc ) 4: Where do you find inspiration for all of your wonderful designs, especially your papers?! I've said MANY times over the year upon seeing a new kit of yours, that I would love to wallpaper my house with your papers! This changes constantly. Sometimes (usually?) a silly title or theme will pop into my head and I go from there. I have a lot going on work-wise so I haven’t been as active here but I have a million things I’d like to get around to. My process used to be extremely rigorous but I’ve been trying to go back to my roots (winging it). I ALSO want my own wallpaper. I want a huge, obnoxious print on one bedroom wall. The wheels are always turning in that direction. 5: Where do you design? PC vs. laptop? Couch vs. Desk? Kitchen vs. Living Room? I have an “office” in the living room. A big girl desk and a bulletin board and 800 post its. (and stupid decor) I have a desktop PC - I've never had a laptop. Using my husband's for even a second frustrates me! Thanks for answering a few questions Allison and letting us get to know you a little bit! Here's a fun page that I made recently using Allison’s awesome products and especially her fabulous papers: And to top off today's feature, Allison has a wonderful sale for you too! Thanks for hosting, Karen!! Here is an old one of mine using Allison's Rebel collection w/ Just Jaimee I adore the Foundation collection with MPM and all of Allison's foundation subfloor papers and stitching... Seize the Day is also a favorite collection of Allison's for me!
I'm a HUGE fan of the Cliff Notes. I add them here and there - such a great thing to have in my stash. I still have a few I haven't bought, but I plan to get a complete collection Made a layout today, but when I was done, I realized I'd used a kit that seems to be retired. Tried to redo it with another kit, but no ... didn't turn out well - so .... here's a layout that uses in part stuff that's retired: Also, here's a layout I made in 2022 using Cliff Notes - celebrating the fact that I've learned to say NO:

Ha! I was sure I wasn't familiar with the work of @AllisonPennington, but I discovered that she was the one who had a theme I needed. Allison, you are fantastic and "the last resort" or "go-to" designer for things that cannot be found anywhere else. Plus, the colors! Geese! The one above was the reason for the one below
i feel like this is a safe space to admit that i've thought about doing a gallery wall of allison papers (in like 8x10 frames) because i don't think my 'i want minimalist calm most of the time' brain could handle full wallpaper walls or decide on a single print to commit to - i always like the variations in colour patterns she includes with her paper packs too b/c i'm too lazy to recolour generally and i feel like allison gets that - much appreciated!
I only had a couple of kits from Allison's shop, so was glad to go browsing during Love Our Designers. I was looking for something that would coordinate well with this photo, so was glad I found this kit! I tried to find an alpha to use for the title, but realized the one I downloaded (Wonderland) didn't have lower case. You need the lower case to spell PhD! LOL But I did keep browsing her shop and got a fantastic deal on For the Love of 2015...All the Stuff. Oh my goodness! So much to download and extract (not done yet), but totally worth it! Loving the color palette and all the options!
I did this layout today as a companion piece to the Day 28 Blind Scrap layout I did of my grandson alone in his Halloween costume.
