My family celebrates three birthdays in November. First my youngest turns 17. A week later, my middle kid turns 20. And a week after that I will be celebrating my 52nd birthday. At least I spaced us out nicely! :lol2

We also celebrate Thanksgiving. For about a decade and a half, until last year, I had done the traditional turkey and everything, but last year, having become fully vegan, and because he's cooking most of the family dinners anyway as the work-from-home parent while I work outside the home, I asked my husband to do it. I have at least one kid who is still loving the traditional feast. We've been talking a little about changing it up this year though. I mean the others are talking about it. I'll probably do lentils and sweet potatoes and stuffing and pumpkin pie like I did last year. The important part of Thanksgiving for me is that we go around the table talking about what we are grateful for. I really do it up, making a long list, often alphabetized, and usually turn it into a scrapbook page. :D

We exchange gifts for Xmas and just take it easy. I get more excited about Winter Solstice. We've reached the shortest days and they'll start lengthening again! :love

Since you said "next few months" I'll add that we have been staying up to see in the New Year but my favorite part of that night is being one of the first people to get a MOC layout done, around 1:00 a.m. Eastern Time. :D And, my husband's birthday is later in January.

Wow! You guys have a busy few months coming, full of fun things! :) That's a lot of birthdays in November! Ours are all in the spring except for mine, so I get how that goes! Lol. That's fun that your husband is going to cook the big thanksgiving feast this year. I love the big feast too, but it's so much cooking! :giggle The last few years we've switched from the oven cooked turkey to a deep fried turkey which we all think is tastier and juicer and it a ton faster too, which is great! My hubby does that part and I do the sides which is nice. This year will be even better... we are going to my sister's house, so I'll probably just bring some dessert or help cook the side dishes.

I totally hear you on the winter solstice too! It's been so dark in the mornings around here!!! Makes me sleepier!

I love that you finish the first MOC layout before you even go to bed. That's awesome!

Lovely calendar as usual @Karen. Looks like plenty to get excited about around here at TLP this month too.

As far as any holidays etc, there isn't any holidays here until Christmas. I am not sure what we will be doing this year for Christmas as now that we don't have a family home anymore that we all gravitate to since my grandmother went into care a few years back. It doesn't help we are spread right across New Zealand as well plus family dynamics are interesting (my uncle lives several hours away and probably won't come down unless we are all together, my cousin might not be there on Christmas or anytime near there because of flight costs during peak time - she lives a 1.5-2 hour flight away plus when she does come she will want to see her other family as well. my aunt won't come if her ex which is fair enough but everyone still has a good relationship with her and she also has family out of town she often goes to stay with, my mum will be working during the christmas period and has long covid so we have to balance out energy levels).

Great calendar - looking forward to checking out the new BYOC now.

Next couple of months are busy busy busy (and fun) -
My birthday next week and we are going
Trish 9G.T.) on a short cruise up the Queensland coast; then
Our eldest granddaughter and one of her friends are visiting from Sydney for their version of "Schoolies" so that will be 10 hectic days with 2 x 17 yr olds let loose!!!!!
Summer solstice here :disagree because the days then start getting shorter
Christmas - well usually we have all the kids and grandkids here at our place BUT, this year we are still in our very small unit while we wait for the building of our new place to be completed. Last year we had to choose which ones we spent Christmas with and that didn't sit well with us so DH decided we could just run away this year - we are going on a Christmas/New Year cruise around New Zealand. Will be a very different Christmas & New Year for us.
Then comes January - and that is the summer holidays for us so we will have a steady stream of grandchildren visiting
    :bk

It always surprises me how early we have to start talking about the holidays to figure out who can go where. Lol. The more people in a family, the harder it is to get everyone in the same place at the same time, that's for sure!

Happy early birthday! All your cruising sounds super fun! That's also so fun that your grandkids come to visit you too. My hubby has always wanted to just run away at Christmas and skip all the parties and running around from house to house. Lol. One of these years we'll have to do that too! Enjoy yours!

I'm looking forward to December when everyone puts up lights in their window. For me Xmas is a feeling, I love to get my Christmas decoration up, I've a tiny plastic tree that I love, since youngest daughter moved out I don't have a real tree.
My grandkids will not be here this Xmas so we will only be five adults eating good food, dessert and play games. We only give gifts to the children.
My youngest daughter had her birthday January 4th and by that time it is MOC-time :) I'm really looking forward to this.
