October 2023 Challenge - Build a Background - Circle & Stars

Welcome to Kim Jensen's designer challenge for October 2023. Kim's shop is bursting with gorgeous papers, so use this month's template to showcase your favorites by designing a beautiful background!

Add photos and elements as you like to make a scrap page on top of the background made with Kim's papers, or make a card, etc. Feel free to get creative and use the template as you like, but make sure it's still recognizable in your final project.

BONUS CHALLENGE: If you use at least three different papers from three different Kim Jensen kits or packs, you'll be entered to win the bonus $10 coupon!

Challenge Rules:
*Use at least 75% Kim Jensen Designs product (current or retired from TLP) to create your layout meeting the criteria listed above.
*Upload your layout to the Kim Jensen gallery. Please include your credits in your gallery description.

*Layouts must be new for this challenge and cannot be combined with other challenges.

Some notes about this design that might be helpful.
I did find this pattern harder to work with than I anticipated probably because I went all in on the colors with my version since I was going for the twilight & glowing jack-o-lantern vibe. But yours doesn't have to be as busy When I designed my template I made the oblong pieces with a random color mix, while most of the quilt examples have a more orderly bent to them. To make those have more 'order' choose a papers mix within the same color family (i.e. all blues or all reds), or group all of those layers together and add one paper to them.

Also, because of the large amount of papers that can potentially be used and thus subsequent large file size as a result, I highly recommend building your background with the template first. Then, flatten it and use that as a single paper when you construct your page or project with it.

I had a busy, busy marching band weekend and it was fun to come back and check on the challenge thread and see some more pages. Thanks for playing along everyone! I've got another busy band week/weekend - it's our last week before the end of the season state assessment on Saturday afternoon - so I probably won't be around much. I will check in when I can and I hope to see some more beautiful quilt-y pages!
