    Happy National Onion Rings Day!

One of our favorite fast food places offers French fries and onion rings for sides. I always choose onion rings. They are delicious plain but I also enjoy them dipped in fry sauce (ketchup & mayo).

So, which would you choose? French fries or onion rings? And do you like a certain sauce with them?

I don't mind onion rings, they are quite tasty. But for me it's definitely a once-in-awhile thing. If I had the choice between them and fries, I'd go with the beautiful potatoes 9 times out of 10. (I'll dip the fries in ketchup sometimes, the onion rings get no dippage).

I love onion rings but they have to have the correct batter coating or they're no good. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our local Pace's onion rings and fry sauce. We like to get an order of onion rings, a large french fry and a tater tot so we can all have our favs and a taste of each kind... :giggle

I agree that all onion rings are not created equal. The batter definitely matters! Pace’s sounds like our kind of restaurant with all those options!

I typically never have onion rings except when we visit Burgerville in the Pacific Northwest. Seasonally (typically in the late summer) they have Walla Walla sweet onion rings that are to die for! Seriously delish! They also have seasonal fresh berry shakes that are wonderful too!

I would always order fries over onion rings but I do really like onion rings so I'm glad when DH orders them so I can steal some. :giggle

I love onion rings as long as they are good and crispy and not soggy and mushy lol
I alternate between the two depending on my mood, and no dipping for me :)

I’m glad French fries are more common for your sake.

We have a local place that used to be called Big T's but now it's changed ownership and the name has changed to Saucy's. It's one of the unique times that someone has taken over but the food remained the same! In fact, I think the chicken is even better now.

We often will get family packs of chicken, fries, and onion rings for birthdays or other special occasions. For Daniel's graduation party, he requested Big T (we have a hard time using the new name LOL). Here's a pic of the food from that day.

They have a special ranch sauce that is awesome with the onion rings. We love that they are thin and have just the right amount of coating. Yummo! Now I want to eat some!

    You're making me choose?
Half and half then. Half onion rings and half fries. Best of both.
