Hi all and welcome to the June journaling challenge! It is part of our human nature to want to remember. We as scrapbookers know this well, in fact we are sometimes described as memory keepers. But even for those who simply hoard hundreds of photos on their phones or in the cloud, those photos serve to spark memory. We want to remember where we were at a point in time, what we were doing, experiencing and feeling, as well as who we were with. This month, take a look at a photo, or series of photos and let them spark your memory. Journal what you remember, whether facts or feelings. The only catch is that every sentence of your journaling must begin with "I remember..." The challenge is to write at least 5 sentences of journaling and each sentence must begin with "I remember" You may have more than 5 sentences. You may journal in whatever format you like - paragraphs, bullet points, etc. However, each and every sentence must lead with "I remember." Here's my page. I journaled about a lovely day I experienced with my oldest daughter - 8 sentences all beginning with I remember. Can't wait to read about your own rememberances! Gentle Reminder: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product (eligible product can be current or retired product from resident designers, or guest designer product that is currently in the TLP store). Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the June Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread (please use the share BB IMG code found on the right side in the gallery). The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
journaling: I remember how excited you were when Mom Mom sent you your blue elephant. I remember how big you looked when you were tall enough to push it. I remember how much you liked to just play with the buttons and listen to the ear-worm style music play. I remember how you use to pat your elephant on the head after a quick ride. I remember how you would try to have Foxy ride on the seat while you pushed your elephant around the house. I remember how you would lean against it to look at your board books. I remember you wanting to push your elephant as fast as you could around the house before asking me to chase you. I remember how big you were when you agreed it was time to say good-bye to your elephant and let another little kid be elephant's friend.
I couldn't think of something I wanted to remember in a journalling challenge until today, a Heavenly Birthday of my best friend, who passed away fighting cancer 7 years ago...
