Yippee! It's time for another batch of books to read together! We have another round of voting completed and we have another batch of great books to read together.

The book for May is Lessons in Chemisty by Bonnie Garmus. Feel free to read our book club books in any order that you choose and when you've finished reading, come back here and tell us what you think. Please label spoilers. We have a new trick for hiding spoilers. Type whatever you want and then highlight the spoiler portion and click the + button above and select Spoiler. If that doesn't work (seems to be funky on Macs) just highlight your text and change the color to white >>>This is a super secret spoiler alert!<<< like I did right there.

    This was SO good!

I laughed with delight, gasped in horror, punched the air, and shook my fist. Garmus has created a rich cast of characters and placed them in a compelling story of family, love, food, and above all, chemistry.

I agree with all of this. I read this about a month ago and loved it so much! The characters were so great!

This one came up in my library holds, I’m enjoying this one. I might be resonating with the character in some ways. Will reserve further comment until I complete it.

I couldn't agree more. This might be the best book I've read in a very long time. Once I hit about the half-way point I could hardly put this book down.

I wasn't sure at first if I was going to be able to get past the encounter and the response from the policeman. But so glad I continued. I went to college for my engineering degree in the mid-80's, and although things had progressed significantly since the time-period of this book, I was still very much in a minority. I loved and hated the ending. Loved that she finally gained the respect and position she deserved and family, hated that he spent his entire life hating his family due to the lies that were told because some people crave power and money more than the lives of others.

I went to college in the mid 90's for engineering and was still often the only girl in my classes.
Thank God I didn't have the awful experiences that she did. I agree that I was fuming after the response from the policeman after that!

I loved this book SO much. I cried and laughed out loud. I got it for my daughter for Christmas! Such a great book for women's issues for our young gals to read too!

I was wrong! It’s a tv series coming. Brie Larson and Lewis Pullman (Bill Pullmans son). I’d still like to watch it!

This was such a great book -- I loved how unique the storyline and themes were. I read a lot of page-turner, mystery type books because I tend to get bored with books that don't race to the ending. But this is one of those books with a story compelling enough to keep you drawn in and despite having a nice wrap-up, it was not at all predictable or cliche.

I saw that too, excited for this. I love series that are set in past decades. I will for sure need my Appletv+ subscription to be current for this one.

Maybe this is why I gravitate toward mysteries. But I am enjoying trying some different styles, and I loved this book so much.

Oh that's even better! I'm looking forward to this! I'll have to get my Apple subscription renewed for a month so I can watch it!

    I loved this book!

I did the audiobook and had to wait forever for my turn to come up but I see what the fuss is about and why its so popular. I can't wait for the series. I think Apple+ does a great job with their shows.

The series is happening on Apple+ now, is anyone watching?

I love it, but also have mixed feelings because there are a lot of changes from the book.
