Outside of Cheryl’s Shadow Styles the two products that spring to mind immediately are https://the-lilypad.com/store/June-BYOC-2015-Textured-Gesso-Papers.html https://the-lilypad.com/store/Foundation-Practical-Brushes-v.3.html
Agree 100% @Pachimac. The other shadow style set I use with great regularity (especially for shadowing stickers) is https://the-lilypad.com/store/stylin-263.html
Love FDD shadow pack- use it almost exclusively. Basic on so many of my layouts- washi tape, staples, some kind of paint or scribble.
I'm with you on that. And, before people say to buy the packs of solids that are available, some people just can't mix multiple designer products at all -- me! The only time I have multiple designers on a layout is when I use a collab because all designers had to use the same color palette when doing their part. And, I have a really hard time using products from designers with 2 different styles on the same layout.
Yeppers! Although I have gotten better about using theme kits for photos that don't fit the theme. I guess I look for items in a kit that are generic enough that a kit can be used for anything, not just the theme. I say this all the time... I used a workout kit for wedding photos because the colors in the kit were the colors of the wedding. And, none of my wedding kits looked good with the photos. Thankfully, the kit had generic flowers and foliage that I could use.
Monica, I'm with you on the solid paper! And I'll take it a step further... it almost always has to be white for me. I have SUCH a hard time with bold backgrounds... no idea. Other people pull it off so well, but I just can't seem to. As for mixing, I mix EVERYTHING! I mix stuff that has no business being mixed! I seem to always fiind, no matter how awesome the kit is that I'm working with, there's always something 'missing' that I'm wanting to include. So then I go searching the store or my stash for whatever it is... which usually leads me down a rabbit hole and then my credits get all crazy! LOL
Yes, I’m always looking for just that “one thing” and then my credits are super long - I am trying to simplify more and use less kits but it’s still very much a work in progress!
Definitely! I think if I could simplify, I could get wayyy more layouts done because I wouldn't spend all my time hunting down one little thing!
THIS!!!! It takes me way longer than it should because I can't just let it be. I have to find just the right button or whatever it is I feel the page needs.
I tend to use a lot of Rachel Jefferies "basic background" and "barely there" papers, they are solids with some interest. Like these: https://the-lilypad.com/store/images/D/rjefferies-myownlovestory-papers-5500e538cb.jpg
Rachel’s messy date stamps go on almost every page. I just keep the abr file loaded and it’s there waiting for me to add the date as I finish a layout.
Yes! I love good date stamps! I tend to go back to Just Jaimee’s I’ll have to look for Rachel’s and give those a try too!!
