If money was no object and it was 100% safe to travel there, what would your dream destination be? I only travel safety because of your current still pandemic state as well as various unrest/wars happening around the world right now. I still want go to the Galapagos. I love animals and it would be magical to me to see all these creatures like Darwin did. Not sure if I am going to make it especially since I have read less and less people are being allowed due to disturbing the wildlife. But since things are perfect, this is where I am headed to.
Ever since studying Latin American civ in high school, I've wanted to go see the South American pyramids built by the Maya, Aztec and Inca civilizations. Visiting the Scottish Highlands is another dream destination. And I'm hoping to travel to Germany in a few years to revisit where my xDH and I lived when he was stationed there (1973-1975). I think I inherited my paternal grandmother's love of world travel.
Oh, this is the hardest question ever! I want to go everywhere I've never been LOL! Honestly, if money and safety were no object - I would do a grand world tour and hit every single country. That would be my dream!! A little more practically, Egypt, Iceland, Austria at Christmas are all pretty high on my list...
I was just talking with my cleaning lady about this today (she just got back from an Alaskan cruise). I want to see all 50 states and would love to see more of Canada. As for overseas, the only places I want to see are Australia/New Zealand and maybe the British Isles (especially Ireland and Scotland where the majority of my ancestors were from). I've wanted to go to A/NZ for over 30 years.
My dream is to take the Grand Tour of Europe . . . something that would take a few years to complete and would consist of me drinking in the culture and arts. So England, France, Switzerland, Italy. Of course, there are other places I'd love to visit, but this type of travel would be my ideal. Of course, since this is a perfect trip, I wouldn't have travel anxiety, motion sickness, and a bad back that would limit my activities.
I think I'd go back to Germany and take a Rhine River Cruise. Then, go back to the Swiss Alps and tour The Black Forest again.
I can’t decide! I guess I’ll say the best place to see the northern lights because they fascinate me.
Anywhere? But only one? I'm taking the Ultimate World Cruise. While I love Cheryl's idea of immersing in the culture, I'd have to go for a quick dip in many, many countries and destinations! Plus, the cruise gives me a consistent 'home base'.
To visit a Amish community, Dad always said he take me before he passed. parents grew up near a Mennonite community, which alot of moms recipes were like. i did get 2 embroidery machine oak cabinets made by the Amish, when Karen lived in Warsaw, and while trying find the Amish community did come across a small town and seen buggy/horse. boo.. in antique shop they had wooden drawers for the card catalog from library, wouldnt fit in our tiny car.
This is me.... visit it all... then revisit favorites! And not to have to pack and unpack at every destination, win!
Gosh, there are so many places I'd love to see but I think I'd pick Italy and I'd want to live there, not just visit so I would be forced to learn the language and travel around and be able to speak to the locals in their native language. I'd love to drink all the wine and see all the places where some of my favorite artists created their masterpieces too. And Venice... I must see that in person someday because it just boggles my mind.
I'd love to go to Bali..stay in a hut over the ocean with a glass floor.. sleep in a hammock.. eat tropical fruit.. enjoy the sunshine and maybe go scuba diving ... and build sand castles
If money and safety were no issue, nor time, I'd want to spend a week in every country. By my calculations that would take 3.75 years. Sounds do-able. If I were forced to choose one country, I'd hate having to decide. But it would probably be one in Europe.
This is so hard. I really want to visit areas around the Mediterranean. So I'm thinking a nice long cruise with stops at lots of places. And if we are talking money is no issue, maybe I could have the boat to myself. LOL!
On my short list is Antartica (you have to stay on the boat but they do let you sleep one night out under the stars & we won't even have Antartica in a few more years!), PEI (#AOGGstan), and Ireland (my g-g-g-grandfather's book published in 1899 is housed at Trinity College).
