I didn't think I would want one, but I got it and I love it. So far I have used it most as my Kindle. I like to read on the IPad better than the Kindle I had. Bigger screen, and I like that it is backlighted. It can come in handy when the lights are off and you still want to read. I also think it is great for traveling, which was the main reason I got it. My hubby has one and we use it to keep our 5 year old entertained in the car or on a plane. It works better than anything else. There are great games for him and he can watch movies.

same here. didn't think i would love it as much as i do. big fat heart it. i regret not getting the 3g - but that's another issue. love having all the apps for all the readers but i'll tell you that amazon/kindle always has the best prices on books. it fits in my purse (yes, it's a big purse) and i can take it with me everywhere. i know i don't utilize it as much as i could -- i read much more and i'm happy about that. i listen to pandora every morning during my "quiet time" -- and i have movies on it in case i get stuck somewhere and i need to be entertained. i also get lots of free podcasts from itunes.

    love it.

Big fat heart mine as well! It's been a lifesaver since I've been down with my back. The apps are fabulous...I have one that let's me plan out and budget my Christmas gifts. I stream Netflix on it, read kindle books, almost everything I did on my pc except scrap. And it's been wonderful to take to my Dr. Appts.

I love mine too. It has replaced my Kindle for reading. It's great for keeping up with blogs and forum stuff. I also use it for Netflix and some games. My kids adore it and I can count on a good 30 minutes to get things done when my youngest has it!

Same here I didn't think I needed one, then I got one and can't live without it! I also use it for my kindle, net flicks, love the abc app where I can watch tv shows and browsing the Internet! I didn't get the 3 g either but I can use my phone as a hotspot and connect thru that. Only problem is my kids and hubby grab it if I set it down

Karen, you can only do it if you have a smartphone that is not an iphone. Otherwise, you have to ahem...well...jail break the iphone for it to work. If you have a smartphone, there are tons of tethering apps depending on your phone and service provider.

There is an app called MyWi. You can get it through Sydia, which I guess is another app store. (getting this info from Hubby) We really shouldn't let Heather in here....we might get in trouble. LOL.

Yep, I totally love my iPad too. I started saving when they announced they were coming out, but I wasn't really sure if I wanted one or not. I finally decided to get one and see how it went and I haven't regretted it for a second. I LOVE that I can sit and watch TV and still check in on my forums, I love Netflix, Pandora, the games (Angry Birds and Cut the Rope!). I use it as an iPod while I'm folding laundry. I seriously have it nearby almost all of the time. You'd love one! The battery on it is amazing too. I only wish I could somehow get Photoshop to work on it... I mean real full blown Photoshop. Then I might never use a real computer! :)
