Errands, there always seems to be something I need to do every week. Sigh. I swear they are never ending! So, I wondered how you handle errands.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else?
    2. What's your favorite errand?
    3. What's your least favorite errand?
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day?
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands?

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that!

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else?
Yes, I'm the major errand runner. Nick will occasionally do them, or go with me, but they are mostly my job.
    2. What's your favorite errand?
    The library.
    3. What's your least favorite errand?
The drugstore. Ugh. There's always something wrong, or not ready like it was supposed to be.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day?
I try to do them all on one day. We share one car, and when Nick worked 45 minutes away, it was a habit to combine on one day so I didn't have to keep the car multiple ones. Now, it's still a habit to make running around a single day, despite Nick working nights/5 minutes away.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands?
Yep! Almost always. Usually I treat myself to lunch out.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? It's all me, at least 99.99% of the time
    2. What's your favorite errand? That sounds like an oxymoron to me :giggle
    3. What's your least favorite errand? All of them, particularly the gas station lately! Also, the one time a year I have to go to the courthouse to pay taxes. For one, I hate the money thing, but also the parking at our courthouse is insane. There's no lot, all parallel and in a circle (yes, I realize that doesn't make sense, maybe more like oval lol)...one way. It's weird. When I took my driver's test back in the day, they made you drive around the courthouse because they said if you can do that you can drive pretty much anywhere.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I shoot for all in one day because I just want to get them over with.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Almost always, yes :) On grocery store days, we usually pick up something frozen or from the deli so I don't have to cook.

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? I don't think I really run that many errands regularly, except gas and groceries. When I do groceries, I try to do a couple of weeks at a time so I don't have to go every week. Most all the others are pretty sporadic, so not a huge deal. Not really eliminating, but I do try to do them early in the morning to avoid longer waits and crowds.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? If I don't do it, they won't get done because Peyton sure can't do them!
    2. What's your favorite errand? Can't think of one that is a favorite.
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Hate having to pump gas but if I want to go anywhere...
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I used to do them as they came up. There were weeks I'd hit up Wal-Mart 3 or 4 times! But when COVID hit, I started trying to do them in one outing, sometimes holding off if I had another appointment coming up during the week.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Nope, not even before the dental issues.

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that! When COVID hit, I turned to online shopping for things that I could not always get locally since I wanted to avoid going to the nearest city. And, when I retired I started doing all my errands during the week, leaving Saturdays for those who had to work M-F. Usually less crowded during the week. Also, during COVID I started going to either the grocery or Wal-Mart before 10 a.m. It was usually an older crowd and not as crowded. If I have errands in Lima, I try to do them all on the same day, just did that a couple weeks ago. Needed dog food that I can't get here in town and Amazon was out so I hit up the pet store, hit up Hobby Lobby and checked the Lowe's there since it is bigger than mine.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? Usually it's my dad or I
    2. What's your favorite errand? Returning items...usually means I can shop for fun too :D
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Going to the bank--having to get there before they close or dealing with lines or feeling like I don't know what I'm doing! *thumbs down*
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? Mm depends! I have a couple that I might do today.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Of course :) Like Starbucks or a Sonic drink

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that! Grocery shopping! We're all about grocery pickup. I guess it's still an errand to go pickup, but way less time on our part. So appreciate the staff who make that possible!

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? Hubs does the financial stuff as well as outside the house.
    2. What's your favorite errand? Grocery shopping
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Anything that needs the post office - those queues are next level.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I generally tackle a few at a time.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Heck yes, coffee or nail paint - depends on the season.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? Someone else, usually Jay or @LivyBug
    2. What's your favorite errand? I'm with @bestcee - the library for sure. It's even better now, because I request the books I want and drive up and they hand them to me in a bag. They know me well enough that I don't have to say anything . . . they see me and grab my books on hold. LOL
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Drug store because there's always a crazy long line and someone who should have gone inside is blocking up the drive through
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I prefer to do things while I'm out because it's not often that I go out, especially if it's hot or when my back is in revolt
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Not always. I had to go to the pain management doctor today, and then grabbed my dad's gift card from Academy, and I swung into Tuesday Morning for about 15 minutes (that was my treat).

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that! Yes! We've eliminated grocery shopping in store almost completely. Occasionally there will be something I forget that I need, and Jay will run out to get it. I'm so happy with ordering online and picking up.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? I am, but my husband typically has 2-3 of his own errands that he runs on the weekend.

    2. What's your favorite errand? Probably Target because it's fun to browse.

    3. What's your least favorite errand? The grocery store. It takes forever, and when I go in person I always spend more than I meant to.

    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? Depends. I usually work part time (half days) so some days I run a few nearby errands after work. If they're farther away or more time consuming I save them up.

    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Not usually. Weight is always a challenge for me, so I try to save those calories for weekend splurges with the family.

    Bonus question
We've done our grocery shopping online for about 10 years. It's such a time saver, and I make much better choices about what to buy when I can look over the cart, put some things back, swap meal plans based on what's on sale, etc. I also love all the curbside pickup and shop online, pick up in store options that have sprung up in the last year. I make fewer impulse purchases and get errands done much faster when I do that.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? Yep
    2. What's your favorite errand? I think @IntenseMagic was right about the oxymoron but I guess the library one isn't so bad, but the drive way & parking lot of our local one is shared with other places & it doesn't seem to matter what time of day or night, the McDonalds drive-thru queue always snakes out & blocks it & the roundabout, which is shared with a big shopping centre/mall & just the whole getting to & from takes away from the physical library joy.
    3. What's your least favorite errand? The vet really. Don't get me wrong the two vet's we've seen are brilliant & are avian specialist It's the trip in & the not knowing if there's any spots to park in b/c it's about a 50point turn to turn around otherwise, with their battle axe driveway on a main road. Post office & chemist are a tie after that.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I usually procrastinate til the last moment, well except for the vet
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Yes & that's partly why I procrastinate - If I'm picking up books for DS, I'll grab something for me too then I'm like 'why did I do that? I'm already reading 3 books & have a bookcase full'; if it's the 'milk & bananas' grocery top up, I'm terrible at impulse buys & I know they stick stuff on the shelves at the end of the aisles for people like me & I still fall for it. And apparently I buy lip balm everytime I go to the chemist & have lip balm amnesia. I just found about 12 in various drawers :cornfused

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? The chemist app initially was a game changer for scripts but the update made it useless b/c I was phoning to check it went thru etc & it never connected right or would go thru to the last page & then say there was an error & to phone etc i gave up went back to going in & eventually changed chemists to one further away but so far, less busy & a bit more pricey, I don't think that's really a solution though. All my solutions are more for the business end. Like why are people still queuing for passport stuff at the post office? And why not have a dedicated queue for them so seeing the queue is 5 people deep with 3 counters open might seem good if i'm picking up a package but not if 2 or 3 of them want passport photos etc. Gah!! Thanks for the vent!

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else?
We split it up. Really the only regular errands we do are grocery/household shopping. I usually do the Wal-Mart shopping, which is our primary store. We also get prescriptions there, so it's a one-stop deal. Mark will usually do Aldi, and then Kroger, and/or Sam's Club as needed, but those are less frequent. Post-office is super-rare, and it just depends which of us is most easily able to do it. Kaylee doesn't drive yet, so I end up chauffeuring and browsing the stores from time to time with them, but I don't think of that as an errand?

    2. What's your favorite errand? 3. What's your least favorite errand?
Since Wal-Mart is pretty much my only errand, it's both! :lol

    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day?
I try to wait until I have a comprehensive list, but I will make quick runs for a few things now and then if needed.

    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands?
Nope. I just go, get it done, and come back home as quickly as possible.

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that!
If there's anything odd we need, we've just started ordering from Amazon instead of running all over town to find it. I haven't tried ordering groceries online yet. I'm leery of letting someone else pick out my food.

Ditto! As for the food, I'm too picky to let someone else make substitutions for me. There was something I wanted a couple weeks ago but it wasn't in stock. I looked and wasn't satisfied with what was available to replace it so just put it on my list for the next time.

Pretty much me, although my husband does also run to the store and usually I try to NOT let that happen! ;)

    2. What's your favorite errand?
I weirdly like the grocery store. BY MYSELF. I can focus on our meal plans, shop deals & take my time.

    3. What's your least favorite errand?
Library- ONLY lately since they have the most ridiculous hours now since pandemic and I can NEVER seem to make it there during their open hours.

    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day?
I work 2 days a week, so sometimes I save up for my off days. Other times I do errands after work so that I can do nothing on my off days... just depends

    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands?
    Sometimes- usually a coffee drink!

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that!
I actually dont really like the 'deliver groceries to your home option' since I like to impulse shop! lol! I do like all the online banking/bill payment options so I dont ever really have to go to the post office to mail anything!

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else? My husband is the major errand runner. He LOVE to do it and I'm not so crazy about it, so I let him. Sometimes I go along with him, but he usually goes alone. I never know when he's going - he'll just pop his head in and tell me he's leaving. LOL
    2. What's your favorite errand? Probably going to Walgreen's. Haha I love Walgreen's.
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Going to the bank.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? As they come up.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? If I'm alone, I usually swing through McDonald's and get a sweet tea. I could become addicted to sweet tea, so I limit it to very occasionally.

    1. Are you the major errand runner or is someone else?
Because I’ve been so unwell/fatigued (it’s getting better every month though), my mum does the errands - makes sense as she’s a) out of the house the most anyway before/after work and b) has the main income source

    2. What's your favorite errand?
Anything I can do online! But in all seriousness, I enjoy going to the grocery store (plus I hate paying for delivery…..I did it for about 6 weeks while my mum was recovering away from home after heart surgery and I was having daily if not 3-4 times a day vertigo attacks. It wasn’t safe for me to be out on my own during the worst of those attacks but I needed groceries so I did what I had to)

    3. What's your least favorite errand?
I don’t mind doing any errands really but probably visiting my bank or any government department are my least fave errands. Luckily I don’t need to physically go in to see them very often. Another errand (that isn’t my fault 99% of the time) that I hate is chasing delivery orders that have been “delivered” while I’m home. It’s got to the point where I don’t do a whole lot of online shopping for physical deliveries anymore. I never did a tonne anyway but dealing with delivery companies not following simple instructions just frustrates me to no end.

    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day?
Generally, I do them either on a Wednesday after I’ve been paid or I’ll save them for Friday when my mum has a day off work too - we generally do our errands when we are out and about anyway if we can to save time and transport costs.

    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands?
Not a specific treat as such but usually lunch out as I tend to do any errands as part of my day “out”

    2. What's your favorite errand? Running into Ingles real quick when I only have to get a few things. I like to say Hi to my daughter & my kids like getting a cookie from their big sis. She works in the bakery part time.
    3. What's your least favorite errand? Wal-mart.
    4. Do you do them as they come up, or save them for 1 day? I usually try to do them all together if possible.
    5. Do you get yourself a treat when you run errands? Depends. It's probably 50/50. Sometimes I'll get a coffee or meet my older kids for lunch (that's more rare).

    Bonus Question:
Are there errands that you have found a way to eliminate? Inquiring minds and all that!

Since Covid I've started doing grocery pick-up and library pick-up. Life changing. Haha.
And teen drivers. Amazing. They can pick up things that I forget or run siblings to extra curricular activities. So just raise up some good teen drivers. It's so easy. Bwahaha!

2-My favourite errand would be a bookstore or a craft store. But since no one can in honesty call it an errand I will have to go with bakery.... warm bread ....
3-Least favourite is the bank......time wasted there is unbelievable, the ques !
4-I save boring errands for 1 day a fortnight . in bad Covid times we did 1 big shop a month ,with extras bought at the corner shop.
5- Depends on the errand.... grocery shopping no treat ( apart from what is in the basket LOL ) Bank- Doctors-Dentist Always Coffee and perhaps a craft magazine

The mentions of banks made me think of another time-saver – mobile deposit! I deposit any checks using my bank's app on my phone. Easy peasy! We rarely use cash for anything. The only time I physically had to go to a bank in the last few years was to get something notarized. :thumbsups

Wal-Mart cashiers are my "bank". I pay for everything with my debit card and get cash back. I still like having cash. In fact, I pay at the other grocery with cash since the total there is usually lower. When I worked I loved direct deposit and that's when I started with getting cash at Wal-Mart. Even now my retirement is direct deposit. If for some reason I do get a physical check, I use mobile deposit as well.... unless it exceeds the limit. When I would go out to eat, I always paid cash and left cash tips especially since I ate at small restaurants. Having worked as a server many years ago, I know how nice it is to walk out after shift with some extra cash in your pocket.

    3. What's your least favorite errand? hmmm, don't really know. I like getting out and about.
